I found that it looks more legitimate if you enlarge more than just your periods. If you also make the commas and quotation marks bigger, it makes it look more believable.

My English teacher's rules for papers:

1. Everything MUST be 12. (Title, punctuation, heading)

2. Titles had to be correctly formatted.

3. No excess spaces and don't screw with the margins, or line spacing.

4. Times New Roman, Times New Roman, Times New Roman.

5. I don't want to see "very, very, very, very" or "so, so, so, so".

6. If you break any of the above rules, I will not accept your paper.

7. I don't care if change "so" to "technically" and etc.

@indigo12ash Your English teacher can SAY that, but how are they going to know if the periods are a different size? I used this on virtually every paper I wrote in college and no one could ever tell. Not even me, and I was looking for it. The change is so subtle, it's virtually invisible. Unless you're eMailing your teacher the original document instead of handing them a paper copy, they won't be able to tell.
