  • Instrumental, O yes

  • I thought it was boring... Well sometimes it doesn't matter, but making an instrumental song is much more to me then the same power chord riff over and over... And no, the drums are nothing special (for a drummer). Do people have poop in their ears?

  • @patfix agreed, though I think this drummer is damn good based off the rest of thier music, This is a basic set for him, nothing complex.

  • The drums in this song are actually pretty simple.

  • fuck yea

  • This is awesome but I keep expecting to hear angry screaming lol

  • love them, freakin talented

  • this is totally badass! :D

  • Don't dis the drums!

  • They did switch up on this; And it's possible to record all pieces at once. Rise Against does it mostly. Plus, how do you think Orchestral peaces are recorded.

  • Am I the only one who thinks that kick drum sounds a bit too high pitched and clicky?

  • @kateyxcorre Then open your damn ears.

  • @undertakerfreak1127 yeah this whole album was like that.

  • Chevelle should riff more often, wouldn't mind an entire album of just instrumental riffen.

  • esse é o verdadeiro chevelle

  • for a band that bashes the music industry its hard for me to understand how such a jewel as this cant make it on their album are their hands realy that tied?

  • I wish this song was longer...

  • Fuck Shockhound.

  • Comment removed

  • uhhhh......that was sooo brutal. i mean c'mon....

  • eargasm.

  • the definition of what badass is suppose to be

  • 1:45 OF PURE CHEVELLE AWESOMENESS

  • was this supposed to be interlewd?

  • One minute and forty-five seconds of headbanging.

  • Comment removed

  • pure headbanging stuff!!

  • I wish I could see this live, but that would mean Dean would have to be two places at once. Haha!

  • Fucking Wunderbar!!!

  • No you are al wrong sam plays the drums dean plays the bass and pete plays the guitar

  • @MrBreakingBenjamin Not for this song - LOL.

I know Chevelle, and nearly everything about them. This is the simplest thing to answer, it's in the album book.

  • @MrBreakingBenjamin Sam said he learned all he knows from Dean... he is a great drummer as well.

  • Holy hell...This song = headshot!

  • Dean used to drum for his old band.

I'm pretty sure Pete played both guitar and bass then added it in.

  • this song is awesome. but im not surprised, its chevelle!

  • bout time they kicked some ass fuck me

  • Killer track man!!! Check out my guitar cover of this track on my userpage... Post a comment if possible!!! Thanks!!! CheVelle!!!

  • i dont get why letters from a thief is being proclaimed as their best song when in my opinion sleep apnea, letos headache, and this are by far their best work

  • @gdnoob4 Nothing on this album is their best work. Granted some of their old songs need to be reproduced. Because they were done with old equipment and have shitty sound quality, but point #1 featured some of their best work in my opinion. you must not have heard alot of their other music, Scifi crimes is a great album its one of my favorites actually, but as far as I'm concerned it offers the least depth.

  • @sillytragedy Point #1 was incredible, especially Prove to You, Skeptic, Blank Earth and Mia.

  • This is like my 15th listen.

  • Is chevelle working on a 6 album

  • @MrBreakingBenjamin Really?

  • @MrBreakingBenjamin Actually Pete is just working on another song, possibly another bonus track. But i'm sure they're in the process of writing a new album while they're out on the road.

  • @iLikechevelle How do you know? Where can I find the song?

  • @MrDrGrotesque I said he is still working on it. A friend of mine asked him what they were up to lately after one of their shows.

  • Dude, thats a freaking awesome bonus track!!

Chevelle rocks socks, no doubt about that!

And, heck yeah, freaking awesome drumming!! :)

  • Hey there if you liked this Bonus Track check out my cover of it on my userpage & post a comment if you'd like... Thanks!!! Long Live CheVelle!!!

  • Hey I dont care who is drumming in this instrumental but it is really good. Dean or Sam makes no difference. SAM is an awesome drummer!! Pete tho, as I heard from an interview with Sam in my modern drummer mag, encourages Sam to stay simple. I'm sure he can do much more but he knows that LESS IS MORE.

  • it's a fucking instrumental you jackass. aka not a song..that's why it's a bonus song...please do us all a favor and shut the fuck up

  • jakob---go jump off a bridge

  • hahaha

  • WOW! dean was drumming....no wonder i liked the drumming so much.I love sam but his drumming isnt that....explosive....he isnt the strength in the band. But i was like damn the drummings good

  • sam is a damn good drummer

  • yes he is good, just not as much as he could be..he needs to experiment a little

  • @xxxupforadoptionxxx3 as it is with so many other drummers out there

  • oh yes he is and cute<33

  • @xxxupforadoptionxxx3 Dean was drumming? Then who was playing the bass? And I agree, the drumming in this song is kickass

  • yes,he was idk on bass.hahah i love sam but this drumming is a little more intense....in one interview sam gave ALOT od credit to dean so.....luv the drumming too.i wonder who was playing bass?

  • @MrDrGrotesque if i had to guess who was playing bass on this since dean is drumming, i'd say pete. he probably played them both on separate tracks and put them together.

    just my guess though lol

  • @MrDrGrotesque dean used to play drums for the band he was with before chevelle but he also tought himself to play bass.

  • @MrDrGrotesque Dean is playing the bass too

  • @MrDrGrotesque im not sure if sam or dean was playing drums but its obvious you dont know how a recording studio works, or when a band records their album... they record each instrument one at a time with a metronome so they are in perfect time. if dean is playin drums they just recorded the drum track individually from the bass like they normally would... plus before dean, pete used to write most of the bass parts for the old bassist joe loefller on the albums before this...

  • @xxddrummerxx actually with this album they switched it up and actually just recorded while playing all together.

They wanted to sound more like they were playing live. I really didn't even notice much of a difference. Bands should do it more lol.

  • @MrDrGrotesque dean was a drummer but he was needed for bass so he learned bass guitar and sam still beasts with drums

  • @MrDrGrotesque Dean drums in the bridge.

  • where in the fuck can i find the album with the bonus tracks other than the internet??

  • hottopic i got mine last week

  • Dean needs to teach this to Sam on drums so they can play it as an opening to one of their concerts!!

  • Chevelle is kick ass!

  • dean plays the drums on this

  • @luv4kazu sam's doing what?

  • @misspanacea haha electric triangle maybe

  • nothing i guess lol.

  • Does he really?

  • @Chevellefan01 dean really plays the drums but i was just kidding about sam playing the electric triangle

  • Ya, I know that. I know Dean plays drums, but he's playing drums in this song? And how do you know that? *NOT BEING MEAN*

  • @Chevellefan01 my friend met chevelle after a show and was telling them how much he liked the gist and sam said that it was actually dean who played the drums on that one.

  • Oh, that's fuckin tits! lol I wanna meet them so bad.

  • @Chevellefan01 they're really great guys and they always meet with some fans after a show so u really do have a chance of meeting them.

  • Ya, well i don't ever go to any shows, the only show I ever go to is Rock On The Range and that only comes once a year. I can't wait to go this year!

  • awesome!!!

  • hard rock & alternative metal and a little bit post grunge ;-)

  • They're not metal nor are they pop/rock. They're definitely hard rock and Vena Sera certainly had its metal values in a few of the songs. Chevelle is just a great versatile band that kicks ass live. :)

  • nice

  • this is like interlewd but 20x heavier

  • heii zaludoss XD...!

  • all you metal heads are getting worked up, chevelle isn't a metal, band, ask them yourself, they're a melodic, hard rock band.

  • thats badass sounding chevelle is the best

  • this song makes me want to dance

  • Whoever started this ridiculous fight needs to shut up.... and the people that are still arguing... stop giving them the bait. Just post your opinion and accept it. ON TOPIC:

I like this track a lot, but it really serves no purpose on Sci-Fi Crimes even if it's just a bonus track. Leto's Headache could have easily been on the cd..

  • I love the rift on this shit!

  • shit why is it everytime i buy one of there new cds it never has bonus tracks on it !!!!!! i think they should make one cd with all there bonus tracks from there album

  • Why does everything turn to arguing when music is put on YouTube?! It gets annoying after a while. Why can't people just listen to the music and their opinion's to them selves.

BTW... there is no such thing as "bad taste in music." People listen to different music because that's what makes everyone unique.

  • Wow! This is sick. I feel like I should be hearing Serj Tankian's voice over this or something lol

  • shut up. serj is a crappy musician without soad behind him. and his voice is annoying as a crying baby.

  • lol too funny...like your opinion matters.

  • nobody's opinion matters douche bag. but i guarentee if you like Serj Tankian's voice, you have bad taste in music and little musical talent if any. so how bout you go fuck with some one elses "opinion". wise-ass.

    oh and another thing:

whoever Onyx is...that garbage needs to stop. it sounds like a bunch of drunk angery middle-aged losers screaming meaningless "rhymes". get a life.

  • lol yeah you guarentee that...... dude do you even realize how many times you contradicted yourself in that post. you must be fucking retarded, but that's just my opinion. FAIL

  • ha! yah i MUST be retarded...because mr. bassie14 said so right? and HA!!!...what the hell have you achieved by stamping FAIL on the end? that has no meaning you jackass. how bout you actually put some videos on this site before you comment on other peoples arguments. fuck off punk.

  • yeah it has alot of meaning actually. see because I thought your comment about serj's voice was so idiotic that if it were by any means a test you would've FAILED. also you then go on to say that noones opinion matters after stating your own dumbass opinion thus contradicting yourself like an idiot. please, don't try me kid. also btw I don't happen to think serj's voice is the greatest because obviously there's much much better singers.

  • but to go to the extent of saying anyone who likes or listens to him or SOAD has a bad taste in music......is just plain stupid. which happens to be your second contradiction in only a few sentences. and wtf relevance does putting vids on youtube have with calling you out for being a DUMBASS???? so once again I will reiterate....you FAIL!!!

  • i'm sorry for my stupid comments. i get out of hand on youtube and say things that definately don't represent Christ. Forgive me.

  • how many bonus tracks are there?

  • best buy cd doesnt have bonus tracks fyi.

  • Throwback metal riff??? Good gods... you ARE a naive little twit aren't you?

Basic 3rd and 5ths are the life blood of ALL rock. If you knew anything about playing you would know that though.

  • the guy obviously dont know a shit

  • Its metal for Chevelle. They havent ever been this heavy

  • you obviously havent been a chevelle fan too long listen to the WONDER WHATS NEXT album my friend.

  • There isnt anything on WWN that is this heavy. there was some heavy stuff mind that. but nothing like this

  • forfeit is just as heavy.

  • Not really...

  • do you not hear pete's scream in forfeit? that's true metal.

  • well yah, if you compare them to bands like "cradle of filth" and "lamb of god". i see metal as hard chords, fat rumbling bass, and a vocalist that can scream HARD and HIGH. metal isn't a genre to me. more of angry emotion with music expressing it.

but, i am not a huge metal fan. i listen to a lot of metal, but not my favorite stuff.

  • pfft.. NOT.. have you ever heard of "the used" bert screams in every song.. and they are definately NOT metal.. so.. find another reason to call chevelle metal pls.. screaming does not = metal

  • @imsuchafatboy dude they are labeled as metal because they have heavy riffs and beats and deep meaning lyrics. that is metal, so fuck off

  • thats not what the person said BITCH.. he said they're metal cuz they scream.. maybe you should learn to read what i wrote before even THINKING YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TALK TO A MAN LIKE ME BOY.... btw they are in the pop/rock section at dimple records :) not the METAL section lawl... GET OWNED

  • Someones abit over fucking confident.

MrSkull is right. And you are right as well. and wrong.

Screaming weather there be or not. Heavy riffs and beats and deep meanings. All of it can be classified into metal. and each of those can be placed into other or sub-genres.

  • @xxxupforadoptionxxx3

its not a freakin metal band retard.

  • i realize that! stupid! theyre classified as hard rock or alternative metal.were saying that this certain song could be classified as metal

  • Comment removed

  • well i wouldn't say that, i'd say they haven't done anything this heavy for awhile

  • Yeah it's true. But what annoys me is when people say slipknot are true metal. All they are is essentially hard rock rythms and chords with a much heavier feel. I'm not ripping on them, I am just saying that they don't use the same chords as most metal bands do.

  • Sorry to spoil your illusion but there IS no such thing as "the same chords that most metal Bands do"... The VERY IDEA of metal was to depart from the normal 3 chord punk and EXPAND upon feel of basic rock. It all depends upon the range of the vocalist. It is called "TRANSPOSING". You will find metal songs in any of the 12 possible keys.

  • Dude settle down. I know all about music theory. I know what transposing is because I have done it MANY times. Also, hard rock usually follows influences from the blues, using the blues scale, while metal usually has more classical influence

  • Although true, classical is a mega influence upon many 80's based metal bands you can't preclude the current phase of "death metal".

Slip knot, like it for not, does fall within that realm. You can argue till your blue in the face but that won't change the reality.

  • I'm sorta confused about what you are saying, but I will just put it out there that I barely listen to metal so I wouldn't know a ton about it. The most I ever listen to is SoaD, Rammstein, and maybe some Slipknot and Betweem the Buried and Me. Half of those bands are barely evn metal. I'm more of an Alt./Prog Rock guy.

  • lol "hard rock rythms and chords with a much heavier feel"

well you've just about illustrated you know jack shit about music. please don't comment if you don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about. theeeeeanks.

  • Wow, I know more about music than you do so don't tell me to not comment.

  • yeah you certainly proved that.....once again. *cough*cough

  • hell yea

  • such an awesome throwback metal riff...chevelle kicks ass
