I'm Romanian, and I have long, thick, black hair, and I find that sleeping on damp hair (without any product in it) makes better curls that this (i.e. not greasy or frizzy). Also NEVER blow dry your hair, it only makes it dry, limp, and frizzy, instead opt for towel dry, sleeping on your hair, or air drying. Hope this helps... :)

I use curls rock amplifier or something it's by TIGI, I put it on when I'm in the shower, a lot of it too, but to form my curl and remove product it works best if I do a quick rinse under cold water. The curls form but it also has that frizzless hold that lasts the whole day. :) Sometimes I'll also put some old on my ends to seal. They might not have loose curls like other races but they have a really tight curl pattern that gives off a frizzy look and almost looks like an afro. I actually love aussie Gel. it leaves the curls shiny and soft sticky or crunchy. I also HIGHLY reccomend a product called "mixed chicks" it's made special for curls. They have a whole line of products from shampoo to conditioners/leave in conditioner to serums. However if you can't afford all that the most important thing is the leave in conditioner. It works WONDERS for your curls.. I know I sound like a commercial but i swear by it.

These gels will not leave your crunchy, slimy, sticky, or with that tacky wet look.

Also my hair is about her length ATM since I had about 15 inches cut off a few months ago and mine is curlier than hers without the products. It has also turned darker the last few years so instead of being more on the light reddish brown colour of my youth it is nearly as dark as hers. I am caucasian and my hair is more like what you get if you have a spiral perm than just bouncy curls. if it seems flat all I need do is spray a bit of water on it and poof curls again. Gee "REAL curls" Oh My !

Soap0122) I can't keep a straight style in my hair. I once tried a short cut that was meant to use a bit of gel to straighten and hold it but I had to try the cement type product and after about 20 minutes it sproinged into curls again anyway. Annoying as all get out.

@MszAmazinq I understand what your saying but most african americans who hair is natural have curly hair. They might not have loose curls like other races but they have a really tight curl pattern that gives off a frizzy look and almost looks like an afro. Im african american and my hair gets really curly especially when i wash it, its just not as loose as someone mix or white.

This woman clearly has African ancestry. Black people are not the only ones with brown skin, but this woman is obviously black.
Also, Spanish people are not all mestizos and vice versa. Spanish people are from Spain, which is in Europe, and the vast majority of them are white.

I believe you're referring to Latins, not Spaniards. Spaniards are the only Spanish people. People of Spanish-speaking Latin American background are not Spanish, they're Latin/Hispanic.
She is black. Isn't Barack Obama black despite his admixture? You don't need to look straight up sub-Saharan African to be black. Take Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, and Tina Knowles as examples, they're all light-skinned blacks with racially ambiguous phenotypes.

Hispanics/Latins don't usually refer to themselves as Spanish, it's some ignorant non-Hispanics that may refer them as "Spanish". Angolans speak Portuguese, so I guess they're Portuguese people according to you, right? Barack Obama speaks English, so I guess he must be English. In Burkina Faso, they speak French, so that must mean that Burkinabé people are French, then.

I actually love aussie Gel. it leaves the curls shiny and soft sticky or crunchy. I also HIGHLY reccomend a product called "mixed chicks" it's made special for curls. They have a whole line of products from shampoo to conditioners/leave in conditioner to serums. However if you can't afford all that the most important thing is the leave in conditioner. It works WONDERS for your curls.. I know I sound like a commercial but i swear by it.

Good gels should not make your hair feel like that. I recommend either Batia & Aleeza's Bio-Herbal Mineral Sculpting Gel, Matrix Biolage Smoothing Gel, and/or L'Oréal Professionnel Texture Expert Gelée Riche Antii-Frizz Styling Gelée. These gels will not leave your crunchy, slimy, sticky, or with that tacky wet look.
