to loublanchard 44. Marmite is yeast extract and 100% vegetable. Other ingredients include niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin B12, spices and salt. You traditionally spread it thinly on toastand butter. It is something the British like but not that popular outside the UK. It has a long history and is believed to be healthy and nutritious. I hope this answers your question a little more clearly.

I buy Marmite here in Canada and love it on hot toast. It also spices up gravies and stews.
