This song was in a little known movie named Times Square. If you ever get a chance and find the movie, get it!!! Awesome music. I have a dubbed copy I see on Ebay the VHS alone is 100 bucks...good luck on the dvd...You can actually see movie here on YT....
wow! best cars song ever. These guys really know what real music is. I grew up in the 80's and they are the only band that still sounds good. way to go cars , my favorite band.
if gay rock & roll existed it would start & end here with a song that has you do mother first in order to follow-up with the girl next door who calls you fag
The people who dislike this video are pro-war idiots who support Obama's borrowing money from China and spending billions in U.S. tax dollars to invade and brutally occupy sovereign nations in the middle east, creating more deficit, more enemies and acting as an imperialist Hitler type when the money should be spent to create new jobs and help our own people while bringing home the troops and putting them to work protecting Americans on U.S. soil. @hectorsalinasisback BY FAR,THE BEST POST I HAVE EVER HEARD! Period. Must we have yet another 4 painful years of this black turd Hussein OBLUNDER? Put Palin or Fred Flintstone or anyone but this MONKEY.
does anybody know the other demo song of the cars thats really good? i forgot it. i checked all of their CDs for it but i guess it was one of their really early songs. it used to be up on youtube long ago. it has a really good intro. thats all i can remember
This is the most sacred song the cars have ever made and loser wanna be females and imitators need to step back and show some respect.Even though Benjamin is gone his legend will keep him alive and well. The new cars are beginning to earn my respect, todd rundgren has a musical history on him and I think he is a great leader for the new cars......................cars live on.................
It's not really a demo but rather the monitor mix of Candy-O. It's actually out as a bootleg with all the other songs. So these are the same tracks, but we are getting to hear a different mix, probably prior to Elliot Easton's solos being laid down, and backing vocals. I love listening to these, since it shows you what was going on in the background on their songs that you don't usually hear because it's either turned down in the mix or altogether missing.
15,763 songs i've ever heard and this is still my very favorite... the song is so great you almost forget about eliot's solo missing, as great as that (always) is... only complaint is the song is too short, but that's cuz i can never get enough of that outro -- 3:11 is, for me, the most exciting moment in all of music,,, they stretch it live to fine effect, but the studio version is aural euphoria... thank you slance for your continuing dedication to this very special music
@Jantelover Man, you said it! The "outtro" ***IS*** the best. I love driving in the car while listening to this, and getting my daughters (they're 11 and 7 years old) to sing along with that, so we're all singing, "Tonight. . . she's a lot like you. . . she's the dangerous type. . . tonight. . . oh she's a lot like you. . . come on and hold me tight. . . tonight. . . ." Wonderful!
I always admired how the demos that I've heard by the Cars don't really sound like demos, but closely approximate the finished product. All this one needs is for Easton to lay in a solo and the song is practically airworthy. Roy Thomas Baker must have had a pretty cushy gig producing these guys: just hit Record and cash the check!
this and a lot of the cars stuff went along with who I was at different times in my life. The music added spice to my life.... and really still does. & thanks again Slance.... You rock !
