Thank you for posting this! I studied with John Stubblefield. My playing improved by 300 percent based on what he taught me. I look at his picture and get inspired whenever I go to Michiko on W 46th St.

John moved me with his "Big Girls' solo on Kenny Barron's CD. I heard from so many of his friends since his passing, it is a testament to how he was loved and how he loved.

John Stubblefield put out some of the best CDs of the era under his own name. They were well composed, well thought out, and his playing and composing were always trandescental. It would be worth anyone's effort to try and find these Cds on the net. John Stubblefield was one of the greats!!
