The U.S. is not even close to being bankrupt. It is a economic shuffle. Homes were over priced. More money is owed on many of them then they are worth. Same payment except for adjustable mortgages. An insurance firm backed the mortgages and when people dumped them the insurance companies didn't have it all. The banks couldn't collect and the shuffle begins. This has happened in the U.S. before. The wealthy are hoping for a bailout and so is the rest of the world, but not the less fortunate.
