  • Will it fit in my ford though?

  • reminds me of the corner laundramat

  • Huuuuuuuge TURBO!

  • ummm I left your car keys up on the top somewhere

  • Sounds like the valve gear on the closest cylinder to the camera could do with adjustment, too much noise from it compared to the others.

  • @MaXiLeeCH You have a very good hearing ;) But thats normal for this engine.

The prior start indicated that one of the valves (most far away near the generator) was not running well. After more lubricating it functioned well.

  • better you use the MAK

  • @slava1000000 Why? Do you know a MAK with that amount of runninghours?

  • @vinlien776 you also dont like MAK?

  • @vinlien776 There are a lot MaK's out there with much more hours on them. But you're right, 216k hours is quite some time!

  • @vinlien776 i do :) we have one with around 500.000 runninghours :) i work at a company and one of our clients have MAK, the best engine i have worked on :) its plenty of MAK's that have more runninghours.

  • @9800gtgs What was the age of the MAK?

  • that is the best large engine vid i'v seen on the net excellent sound love that throttle response dose anyone know how much boost pressure these engine run?

  • @supersavage123 Full load was 1,2bar

  • ( Sarcasm mode ) There's no power made here.. -camera shakes- ( end sarcasm mode ). Two or four cycle? Awesome either way! Love the sound!!

  • @slamdvw It was the complete plant that was shaking ;)

  • I love a good engine clunk!

  • Now that's a valve train

  • This is PURE MUSIC!!!

  • Diese Ventilsteuerung eines R6 Diesels GEIL

  • Coool :)

  • Ah, okay.

(thanks to google translate)

  • @vinlien776 :) haha nice for trying to translate it... problem is, now I only understood half of it cause g-translate isn't the best tool...

You don't have the english version of what you said anywhere huh?! :D

  • @SpeedMjam Well I can try ;)

The engine is for the emergency power of an hospital. It was operational 24/7 at full load. After a fire in the fuelhouse we were forced to stop. This is the first start after several weeks.

We had to rebuild te fuel system. before the fire is was running at HFO. Later at DO. That was only for 2-3 years. In 2009 is was sold. Now we are building a new powerplant.

  • @vinlien776 Thanks! :)

  • haha i love the way everyone puts on their ear protection when the plant manager is making his rounds, good clip !!

  • @Lighthead440 He wishes he was a plantmanager. Just an employee with a nice sweater.

Beacase of the special start the chiefengeneer was also in overall.

The earprotection is not needed in idle rpm (270rpm). Then is just a nice ploff. When we put up power at 600rpm the blower will do his work and thats not nice for the ears ;)

  • Super, kippenvel momentje.

  • @Dunclies Het grootste kippenvelmoment was in november 2010. Toen zijn ze voor altijd stilgezet met 219000 draaiuren. Snel daarna zijn ze door SWD weggehaald en naar het buitenland verscheept. Waarschijnlijk zullen ze daar ook nog wel wat uurtjes gaan maken.

  • some fat rocker arms

  • onverwoestbaar!

  • I love the sound! When properly maintained this engines are high class quality. I´ve been Chief Eng on roroship with same kind of engines for 6 years. The roroship is still in operation, she was built 1973.

  • real good video

  • Hey, these are real good videos of this engine.i've worked on the 12TM410 on MIGHTY SERVANT 2. Where's this video taken?

    David

  • Hey David,

The Engine is placed in the Powerplant of a hospital in Amsterdam.

There are two TM410's, both with 214k+ hours.

They are stil running 24/7 but getting old. Within 2 years they will be replaced by 3 Wartsilla 32 V16 engines.

  • Good choice! The 16V32 is a great engine. I'd recommend any Wartsila engine. I actually have a couple smaller Wartsila engines in my workshop at home :)

  • @TheChiefEngineer

Some workshop you got, is 1000 hp not about the smallest Wartsila you can get.

  • @TheChiefEngineer Whahaha yes Right ;)
