O! and guess what happens if Willingham gets fired... WE START AGAIN FROM SCRATCH!!! The problem with our program right now is that we don't have much depth and taking Willingham out of the picture only sets us back even more. If Willingham gets fired then the higher-ups of UW are idiots.
Scratch? Not true. If UW is smart and hires a good coach with a good rep, we may even do better recruiting than TW has done, which by the looks of the overall talent on the team is not too good. This opinion of yours is a myth that many college teams with traditionally strong programs prove to be false every year.
I was thinking about it and yeah I agree with you if Willingham doesn't produce by the end of the season (aka above 500), then he should be fired, I just think people are being too harsh on him cause his team did pretty damn well against BYU, and who knows how we'll fare against Stanford, Cal, OSU, UCLA etc. Your right though this season will make or break him, and hopefully if he goes we'll get somebody good.
And UW fans aren't bad. We're not the ones that started chanting while a stretcher was being brought out to another teams's player. Thank you very much.
Great game, but policy or not that call was bullshit. I honestly don't see Willingham being fired after that display. We've shown we can play on par with the 15th ranked team in the country, and could have won had things gone our way in the last 10 seconds of the game. Next weekend will be tough but I can see us doing damn well in the rest of the season.
Yeah, but our D was running out again late in the game... not a good sign. We probably would have lost in OT. Still, Jake Locker is a classy player and shouldn't feel bad for celebrating since he basically single-handedly got us back in the game. :(
If UW was outplayed so much then why did we lose by only one point??? You can say it was all locker or whatever but HE IS A MEMBER OF THE TEAM so it was the huskies, regardless of who actually scored the last touchdown, who played that well. The only real playmakers for BYU were Unga and Hall but nooooo nobody critices them for having two main guys everybody goes to. We're aren't even ranked in the top 50 and we gave BYU a VERY run for their money, BYU deserves to be in the top 15 my ass.
The score was deceiving. We were lucky to even be in the game. Pitta or whatever played very well also. This is the sad reality of the UW Football program though, mocking a MWC team we should be beating no matter what. Who cares 1 point or 20. This is the Pac-10, hello. Don't be a Coug. We are Washington, this program can do better than that.

zv713 you are right, but the more I think about what you said, it isn't even the lines fault W lost. I blame Jan Jorgenson. That guy is a BEAST of a man. No, but really, there was no reason for the ball to be at that height for a kick that isn't even really a distance kick. It isn't close, but it is a common distance.
good math BobDole!!! Look it really sucks that it happened to him. Yeah he was excited, he was emotional, but a Pac-10 QB is trained to handle emotion. 20+ ft. in the air is "high." It is a rule!!! Rules rtb enforced. This wouldn't be an issue had any of the holding or even the hooking by W had been called on that last drive. The kick was blocked. Had the ball missed wide by inches where 15 yrds closer would have made in in by FEET, this would be a totally different case. The KICKER lost It 4 U!
Here is the math: assuming the ball thrown from about shoulder height and the ball was in the air for 2.36 seconds. From Locker's arm height, it reached a height of 22.5 feet. Including Locker's approximate height, the ball went over 26 feet into the air. Is this high? You decide.
i was at the game today it was fucking bullshit and cost the huskies a chance to beat the 15th best team in the nation it was a fucking trajedy that the refs took it away from us and most people would agree that jake locker was not showing of or taunting in any wasy he showed that he was happy and celebrated with his team mates. god dammit it was such shit and fuck you bitch mormans from byu
ahh another classy UW fan... and i love it that you didnt see that the refs were for you this game, there was so much holding on the UW line it wasnt even funny, had they been calling the holds UW wouldve stopped doing that, locker wouldve been sacked more, and you would see a 3+ TD victory for BYU
I love how the ref's called him for celebrated a td rush in the 4th quarter with 11 seconds left, thats was honestly one of the worst calls i have ever seen, first of all, he barely celebrated secondly, who the fuck would not celebrate after a td like that, you gotta be fucking kidding me such a joke BYU is trash UW had that game pathetic
Just remember that TD wsa to TIE the score, not win the game. BYU was toasting your defence ALL DAY! (look at stats, 477 yds of offence, Hall 338 yds passing, Unga 138 yds rushing...)
Ha, penalty or not your kicker should have converted the PAT. So sadly Willingham is toast, and UW will be an afterthought in our season to the BCS. Stand and Shout, Go BYU!
OH and I should mention i was at the game and UW's fans are the worst! We just cheer on our team but they try to shove it in our faces when they do something good. Its almost as bad as wisconsin fans!
I was sitting in the upper deck on the same side where Unga fumbled the TD run, those fans you saw were classless, but i didnt see that reaction from fans where i sat, we were excited at first because of the catch, then we saw the guy was still down and we were all very concerned, im sorry you saw other fans who did that, i felt sorry for the guy and i cheered when they got him into the ambulance
We need to get back to the good 'ol days. Does ANYONE remember Tuiosasopo? (however you spell his name) THat's what I"m talking about!

(c) Throwing the ball high into the air.
(d) Any other unsportsmanlike act or actions that delay the game.

BYU is 11-2 the last two seasons while UW still yearns of brighter days. So not counting Locker, YOUR team is trash.

doesnt matter that the Huskies lost cuz that was a bad call and BYU isnt going to any big BSC game because there schedule is so easy
plus when you struggle with Washington they really arent proving that they are an elite team

BYU fans were so classy at the game -- they were chanting BYU while an injured player was being carried off the field.
By the way, where the hell were seating at?
