For example, sometimes, I forget to emphysise the "r" at the end of the word "there" when it is followed by a word begginning with a vowel. I'm not a native speaker, but I study the language and my understanding is (according to my phonetics lecturer who is from England) that people tend to shift towards RP pronunciation as they climb higher up the social ladder. Very few people speak with "perfect RP accent" (like you said, propably MPs etc.) but those with higher education like doctors or teachers may be under pressure to speak with a pronunciation that is near RP because of their status.
