What confuses me though when I first saw this series, is that after the final battle with one of the Anten Seven in the last couple of episodes during the Galaxtic Leyline , She won that battle but was out of strengh, was she unconcious? did she survive? I havn't seen this in years.

She won out of pure natural talent as a fighter. The dude underestimated her (as apparent as that turned out). Aisha's only flaw is people skills, but her natural fighting skills are excellant. The combo makes her unpredictable, hence she won.

It was strongly implied that the battle killed her, but Gene was given godlike powers by the heart of the leyline, returned to the ship, and presumably revivified her either intentionally or as a side-effect(seems Lord Hazanko's power had the opposite effect on his remaining henchmen, shucky darn). As of the final anime episode, she was still alive, still thoroughly broke and as I recall, about to hitchhike her way back to the Empire.

No, it's not just that. Ctarl beasts are very deadly and really hard to kill. Also, they don't think as well after transforming...so she isn't quite herself in that form.

I also highly doubt that she died. Even that tornado move can't kill them in beast form, she just got weak and reverted to normal.
