If I have even lesser money ie I am in low to just touching middle class level. I will substitute everything for chinese products. Use them, enjoy them & throw them when they go bad & then buy latest fashionable items again & throw them after year or two & then get another one.

Come to think of it in terms of clothes, handbags, perfumes, watches, shoes etc if you don't have boatloads of money to buy expensive branded goods what will you do. These items are unbranded but are pretty good in quality (not as same as branded though)
Coming to Gucci, LV or Prada .. yes Chinese manufacturers copy them but their build quality is quite good. There are all levels of clones. Outright copy with great to bad quality, inspired copy with great to bad quality, Inspired items (with similar looking with different badge) with great to bad quality. These industries thrive on low to middle income group which are plenty in China, India, south east asian countries, PAkistan, Afghanistan etc. These people also want good looking products
Maybe, it is my personal opinion but going through itunes set-up to listen to songs & unable to pick songs from someone else's library was major turn off to me. Yes, there are ways around it but it is like taking a flight from India to China via Antartica. Also, everytime I had itunes installed on my computer, my computer became very slow & unresponsive. So, I don't know about others but I find that chinese MP3's are so much superior to ipod be it be sound or ease of use or funtionality.
However, If I have very little money & do want a car, then yes. It is definitely safer than driving a motorcycle. Coming to computers & MP3. A lot of people are so much into Apple that it is mind boggling. True that they make great products but they are very inflexible closed system.
