Funny how we put our own people down! Women all over the world are capable of being lawyers, doctors, fbi agents etc. but yemenias cant be? this is whats holding our country back and people make a show of it to laugh, Maybe someday reality will kick in and yemen will notice we are way behind the rest of the world, and women are oppressed with little education, and no rights, THATS HARAM!! wanting to become someone, trying to help feed your family are rights they should have THE OPPORTUNITY!

I do agree with you in your point of view ; however , you should not look down to our culture , customs, religion . You should not underestimate those above when try to discuss controversy with arab generally and yemeni particularly .Yet not because we do not get what you speak about , but for that we have been attacked by others using "Your Comment " form to attack us thus we try to explain some points in Joking way to make your females excuse us .

I thought they already were?? Didn't Yemen have female rulers centuries ago? When I was there they were working as Nurses and Medical technicians visiting the homes in Sana. Offering information about health care. IM sure there is still a lot of room for improvement. And I didnt see any laws preventing them from doing anything. Its the families that make the choices. The system was open. Of course this was 20 yrs ago. Did it get worse since then??
