  • Was he playing on his own?

  • woulda been better if the last one went brooklyn

  • pssshhhh I can beat that.

  • i struck the front 10 the other day, then choked and rolled a 6 for 285. i was sooo pissed. but it was my high game

  • My high school friend Linda actually got finger banged by this guy back in college. She said he really knew what he was doing down there. He could really cram his thumb right in there.

  • must of been the moustache

  • i miss Mike Durbin

  • Haha, I know him! Him and his wife are good friends of my parents. XD

  • 1 minute in...Is that Jerry Seinfeld in the purple on the right? lulz

  • You beat the game. LOL

  • WRW Jr. made $4M emulating this shot.

Nobody rolls that Gold Rhino like ol' Soapy. Greatest televised 300 of all time.

  • man, i wish i can bowl like that

  • gosh, i thought he would eventually get it in the gutter thats too close to the gutter. i love how its quit and you hear a ccrreeeaaakk

  • i can bowl a perfect game, when i stand an inch away from the pins and kick them down

  • He really gets to the line in a hurry - kind of reminds me of what I have to do to get the ball over 15mph.

  • "I don't have time to get to the gym so i have to sculpt my guns in the office..."

  • I used to marginally know Butch in the early 70's when he used to bowl out of

Fashion Lanes in Santa Ana,California. He was the nicest, most humble soft-spoken guy you'd ever want to meet. If he had an ego, you would never have known it by being in his presence. And wow, could he bowl!

  • @kdeez - I bowled in the junior leagues there in the 70's and kept score for him from time to time. He was a great guy. You must have known the Miller family that owned the facility; Tom, the father and Mike, the egotistical son.

  • @addemup - I think Mike was the younger son, and I didn't really know him, but I knew T.J. the older son. Nice guy - seemed pretty quiet. He always kept score and kept track of the games bowled during the late night pot games.

  • "I don't know if you heard me counting, but I did over 1000"

  • What pattern lets you shoot crazy angled shots like that? It was sooooo weird and awesome at the same time! PROPS.

  • At the end... that tall guy. I swear he's at least 6'7".

  • @supermonkeyballboy - Butch is rather short, probably 5"7" so it makes that guy look that much taller. That said, he might just be 6'7"

  • its like watching the same video again and again

  • man he sounds like michael douglas

  • his style is my style. that is such a powerful angle. always massive pinfall for people with medium revs.

  • :49 Walter Sobchak top right

    1:00 Jerry Seinfeld far right

  • @ANONONTHEJEWTUBE That's not Jerry Seinfeld but looks like him. That is actually Del Warren, PBA bowler from Florida and now ball rep. Seinfeld probably makes $10000 every few minutes!

  • :49 Walter Sobchak top right

  • Fuck that

  • I wonder what the lane condition was? If it was a sport pattern, it must have been Cheetah.

  • wow, what an athlete. This isnt a sport

  • @GriffinMcCarley So much more a sport than golf.

  • @iamzbacku Are you an idiot? Golf is probably the most difficult sport of all. Id like to see you go out and shoot anything lower than 100 on any course

  • @GriffinMcCarley I shot a 96 the very first and only time I played a round of golf. Yes it was 18 holes.

Let's just say, I like bowling and you like golf. nuf said.

  • @iamzbacku fair enough

  • @davisteelers14

    That's what she said.

  • wow he is a midget

  • when does the PBA air on wut channel?

  • That's my buddy from Havasu!!

  • he's 5'6" i guess he had to resort to bowling

  • I bet he gets alot of blisters with how tight his thumb hole is!

  • @TheMusicjuice he probly bowls right and relaxes his thumb like he is supposed to..

  • It was $10,000 for 300 game back in the 60s. You would think they could adjust it for inflation. lol

  • Is butch still alive?

  • Was VERY HAPPY for Butchie! Thanks for posting...

    RIP Don Glover

  • im lucky if i get one strike lol

  • High five to the commentator. Awesome!

  • nice

  • omfg

  • I bowled a perfect series. It was 3 games together as one and got 36 strikes in a row for 900 points! A strike for every frame for 3 games in a row without missing one in real bowling with no bumpers.. Try to beat that.

  • @tatomuck18 And in times of dire need I yell out the magic word "Shazam" and am hit by the magic lightning bolt and turn into Captain Marvel and fly to the rescue!!! You are so full of it....

  • seems like a damn cool guy

  • looks likenit nwas filmed in the seventies looking at the croud and the way they are dressed bunch of brady bunch girlies

  • he bowls just like me i just dont have the 3 finger roll down perfect yet so i just fingertip it with no thumb

  • that man can roll a ball lol

  • way to go butch..how bout a round of bullmeisters for the bowler from blythe

  • lmao at the end: "got some gambling money!"

  • Now that's impressive.

  • I can't even bowl a 250 on wii bowling - let alone a perfect game in REAL bowling!

  • Respect. I wish I could do that. Bowl a perfect game, and then receive a 10,000$ check right afterwards..... Perfect day I'd say.

  • @5mitch08 roll a candlepin 300 and set a world record.. now that would be a perfect day

  • I use a size 14 Rhino and i get a few strikes like 6 every game only a beginner and it is really good spin ball.

  • 6 strikes a game for a beginner? i dont think so....ive been bowling for 5 years and ill get about 5 or more a game...thats a 200 game easily everytime

  • you have to realize that some people cant shoot spares, and every spare you miss is at least 11 pins lost

  • @frizzank91 yes i know this but ever game ive had 5 or more strikes its been over a 200

  • but thats cause you can spare shoot. try throwing 5 strikes and miss every spare. you might bowl a 180 if you are lucky.

  • ive gone a game with like 6 strikes and only 1 spare and still got a 200

  • you wish SouljaMoi.

  • The technology has changed greatly from then to now, the ball makes the difference.

  • i think your blind lol

  • I had no idea sound quality was so high back then, you can hear his thumb squeezing in, the creaking of his hand turning, and the POP and the end.. Classic.

  • Those were the days when you could "point it off the corner" and not be criticized for lack of style! LOL

  • Hahah yeah. If I could bowl 300's like that all day long the same way he does, I wouldn't care what they think haha.

  • I can't tell exactly but i think that is a gold rhino pro

  • listen to the noise as he rolls it ....pop. lol

  • have you ever bowl?

  • yes but not on a team

  • Either he is really short or that reporter is super tall

  • Good combination of both, I'd say.

  • Butch is 5'6"

  • haha i read this comment before i saw what you where talkin about

  • it says hes 5 foot 6 so thats real short

  • shut up he's a pro. once you make the pros, I'll stop talking, but until then, just shut up

  • Did they add the squishy noises? haha

  • yeah sure they did they added a squishy noises that were all ready there

  • you are stupid....the tape on his thumb was rubbing inside the thumbhole, in turn making the noises

  • Comment removed

  • Just noticed this myself :D

  • I like his bowling style:P

  • i agree ... less time you think about a shot, the less time you get to OVERTHINK a shot...

  • i saw that before

  • nice.. i want a 300 game... my best is 265

  • Wow, did he have pull area. He pulled around 4 shots and they held.

  • Its because its a spare ball he's using.

  • He was using a gold Rhino Pro which was one of the top resin balls of 1994. I remember wanting one so badly when I was 9.

  • he had so much pull area, cuz the ball he was using is nothin like the balls we have today, they dont grab the lane like today's

  • i know their high performance balls were like white dots these days

  • Throws the ball: POP!!!

  • yeah!!!

  • you can hear the sucktion

  • i know, thats some serious sucktion.

  • Mad sucktion!

  • Sucktion!

  • Sik suktion!

  • Uber sucktion broski.

  • nice work!!!

  • IT'S OVER 9000

  • @KishKiai NO THIS IS SPARTA!

  • I always get nervous when i watch 300 videos,

even when i know its gonna be a 300

  • Haha I know exactly what you mean! I was like "shiiit last shot with 10 grand hanging no it!!"

  • Same for me.

  • nice 300!

  • homer simpson do it

  • I will never understand why people cheer before anything even happens. If I did that in public I would be embarrassed and if I saw people doing it I would laugh at them.

  • My BEST game was 296 in 1996.

11 in a row ... one more to go.

I guess I choked ... got sooo NERVOUS.

Blew my chance on that beautiful 300 ABC ring.

  • dude, this is a video about bowling... what else are you going to comment on? leave him alone!

  • my high game is 194 ;D but im getting a new ball so i should do btr.

  • the dude at the end is so much taller than butch lol

  • nice my best game 226...never think i'm gonna beat that haha

  • ha thats my best game too.

  • ha thats my best game too.

  • 252 =D. Incredibly lucky 7 in a row =P

  • My god, he sounds and looks just like Michael J. Fox with a beard! :D Excellent shooting!

  • htcoolio, bowling is a sport !

  • technically it is but not in my opinion

  • You haven't watch the Big Lebowski enough! :)

  • high game 299 in league play *sigh*

  • brilliant

    high game:249

  • nice to say somthing like that to that whas 300 game whas for mom nice done

  • Comment removed

  • In this video, Butch had 3 boards of area and all of them had aarows on them!

  • thats all him not the bowling ball great talent and accuracy

  • Good 4 You. Want a cookie?

  • Lol... I thought you were talking to me (I got a message saying that you replied :)

  • why was he in the 30 lane 1:53? odd

  • WTF are you talking about? It's league play! They alternate lanes.

  • A perfect 300, will lead you to the BIG reward.

  • Really weird lane condition.. Look at the ball at 2.07... Really holds... Lil lucky :)

  • wow i just relooked and it REALY held there lucky lucky shot... nice catch btw

  • When I bowled my 300, I bowled against The Blind, so I had very little pressure. But my teammates, and my family and friends that bowl in the league were there too. I felt a lot of pressure, but not much since there wasn't much of a crowd.

  • That's quite an unusual shot he has but very effective; if I tried to shoot that way I'd go Brooklyn every time.

  • I'd hit the 7 pin...lol

  • u just gotta relax thats how he did it

  • i could never do that on TV. i got the front 7 and like 30 ppl gathered, i got nervous and fucked up. imagine that only in front of millions of viewers. nerves of steel

  • i had 9 in front of my dad and i was freaking out

  • I love Butch...... You are so cute and there isn't a bowler out there that compares to you......I Love you

  • That guy is amazing! It's interesting how dramatically different the two top holes are. Is that a usual thing with pro bowlers? I wouldn't know, cause I only played for about a few years. My best is 201. He looks like he has a perfect line.

  • man didnt even look like he was trying...the abilty to repeat shot every frame is why exempt bowlers are soo damn good like walter, duke, jones, scroggins and i can go on forever

  • If you can go on forever it pretty much means anyone can do it =|

  • Same line I play,

    But i use a CUDA/C

  • wow he's short, but he's fucking awesome at bowling!

  • my high is a 278, i bowl every day, ive bowled since i was 3, i average 203 and 205 in both my leagues, its all repetition...

  • Butch Sopher is awesome

  • damn straight

  • LOL.....Someone asked WHO'S THAT REAL TALL GUY doing the interview at the end, but nobody answered yet.

    ANYBODY KNOW?

He looks about 7'5" standing next to Soper. :-)

  • nice

  • the only thing i have to say is...........

If you show up to a bowling alley with a black wristguard/glove that he was wearing you better be one effin good bowler

  • yea otherwise u just look stupid

  • playing 1 board? different but works if you getta 300

  • for him that was an easy $10000 lol

  • lol he shows like no emotion

  • he is concentrating

  • oph trust me he's happy, some bowlers go there whol life with out a 300 my biggest is a 165,but im only 13.lol

  • 165? how long u been bowling? i started when i was 12 and i bowled a 189 when i was 13 then when i turned 14 it moved to a 240 now im 15 and i had a 240 250 and a 263 this year

  • well congratulations, did you take lessons,i didn't i started really getting into bowling last summer so ive been bowling for about 6 months, but i started out with a 80 something, now i average around 130 easy, every now and then ill get a good game like that 165,and i started to learn how to throw a curve about 2 months ago,but my ball is drilled for straight,so im gonna get me a Raw Hammer Anger off ebay for some more curve.

  • thats the key to it. ive blown about 5-6 300 games in the 10th frame because i got too excited or rushed myself. concentration and no emotion until the job is done is so important.

  • ya i've almost done that. i show a little bit of emotion usually on the 11th ball but i quickly get it back under control and then finish it out. so far i'm 3/4 :) not a bad average lol

  • i wish that he wouldve just thrown 1 straight into the gutter like threw it and it went right in
