I remember this 2nd version of the theme... If you search for the longer version its got some real grroove - BA Robertson made some great jingles and tunes!
I liked swap shop liked posh paws I have pet sheep you can comment 117 0984 posh paws was dinosaur and I thought he was a dragon when I was a wee boy and I like Adam Ant
did anyone ever notice that more often than not,if there was a phone in to swap shop, the kids all had southern accents!.think how our telephone systems used to operate and it was easy to work out that because thy didnt have to dial 01 before the other digits and remember few of the exchanges at this time were digital so if you lived outside the london area, the call took longer to get through.cheers
@escillon that's because all the northern kids watched Tiswas to see Tarrent shove custard pies in people's faces. Swap Shop was far too sophisticated for northern children to understand.
This theme was by BA Robertson and was from the final series from 1981/1982. For the last series it was called Swap Shop rather than The Multi-Coloured Swap Shop. BA Robertson then did the theme for Saturday Superstore.
Not a patch on TISWAS

The 8-year old that called in wanting a giraffe picture is probably about 37 now.
God I'm old.
