dad still has a lot of the irish about him I am so lucky to have been brought up by Irish parents who love/loved the land of their birth,I could not imagine living on the island and having the hardship that these amazing and beautiful people face, they have fought for so many years to get a cable car but to no avail I am so proud of each and everyone of them
my mum Anne calvey (deceased since 2008) came from here but like many she went to work in Scotland at 14 yes old. my aunt still has a house there and I have visited a few times-the island us stunning in the summer. I would like to bring my wife to visit some time.
@Gaeilgeoir Sea caithfear fuil úr a thabhairt isteach ann! Agus b'fhéidir club oíche nó dhó! Ar aon seans an bfhuil Mícheál Seán an t-ainm duitse? Tá do chuid Gaelig don scoth a mhac!
@Gaeilgeoir Ah tá tusa i do chara le Gaeilge Mhaigh Eo ar facebook agus is cuimhin gur luaigh tú go raibh do mhuintire ón Ostair agus ó Mhaigh Eo chomh maith ar cheann de na altanna abhí ar an leathanach sin, bhí sé sin scríofa ar d'chúntas youtube freisin! Tá tusa ceann dens na subscritptions atá agam ar youtube. Táim i mo bhleachtaire is dóigh!
Talk about a great oral tradition, these folks dont only have some vague notion that they were originally out of "the north" in the 17th century but specifically site County Tyrone and the family names.

Is dócha gur tógadh é le Gaeilge ach go bhfuil se gan chleachtadh le tamall fada, formhór a shaoil fásta.
