I think that just the fact that there is ongoing debate about whether Snape is "good" or "bad" speaks to his complexity as a character. He's always loved Lily Potter, but he's been cruel to her son. He opposes Voldemort, but he is drawn to the Dark Arts. Snape is all kinds of shades of gray! Oh, and wonderful song choice. I love the Muppets!!

This was made a year ago before DH came out. And Snape still was not sweet, he was cruel and cold but he DID have a soft side. It was his love for Lily but it still does change the fact that he is a cranky old man.

He said always to LILY!! He loved LILY after all this time. Lily's patronus was a doe and thats why Snape's was a doe, because he loved LILY, not harry, Lily. That is why he got so angry when Dumbledore suggested he cared about Harry, because it was really Lily he loved. he did not love Harry. and if youlook at the interviews with JK Rowling after the book came out, particularly the one on the Today Show, you will see she agrees with me.

No he was talking about LILY!!! Dumbledroe goes "have you actually grown to care for the boy?' Snape goes " forhim?! FOR HIM?!?-expecto Patronum" and the doe appears representing that he still love Lily. Dumbledore asks "After all this time" meaning you still love Lily after she has been gone for so long. Snape says "Always" Meaning he has always and will always love Lily.

Don't get me wrong I have a soft spot for Snape, I have sympathy for him but that doesn't change the fact he is a Scrooge, cold and unfeeling and mean- EXCEPT towards Lily. But the thing you have to realize it that the event in which we discover the doe is Snape's patronus took place before Dumbledore's death and that Snape did not conjure the doe to send to Harry until after Dumbledore had died. I respect that you like Snape but I stand by my thoughts that this video fit him well. I like Snape too but he does have his faults.
