  • no sound =(

  • Most people only know about the GTO 250 because of Ferris Bueller and it was a replica on a 280z frame.

  • @mengle2004 Actually that was a 250 GT California spyder replica in that movie. Both beautiful cars, but very different.

  • I just hope the Datsun 240Z was a right off ?(apart from the chassis of course that you used) as even though a replica "any car" can be nice, an authentic good example of a classic like the Datsun 240Z is for me a much more worthwhile project

But still Im not hatin each to there own , just my personal opinion, .

  • who could own a real one anyway?........nice copy.

  • ooopps , just read the description. very nice job..... im in the 95% of not knowing a real 250

  • great song , and nice fiat

  • Nice car, really! Better than ordinary car. Obviously, the Ferrari is the Best, but... to dream, by this car, we can!

  • This is a pretty well made replica

  • original engine?

  • Man I would be happy with that car. Yes sir!!

  • closer to a real one

  • I wanted the "Alpha One" kit when it came out back in the 70's but couldn't afford it. Watched 6 guys trying to install the back half, and learned a lot of new curse words that afternoon... I would still enjoy building one of these. Saw one in Houston that had a lot of real Ferrari parts on it, and they really spent the time and $ on it... and it was a fantastic car. How nice to see one here on the road being enjoyed.

  • idk what everyones complaining about so what if its fake... anyone here have the money to buy a real one? no didn't think so

  • Vette shit

  • fake car , real music

  • A Datsun 240Z is a classic sports car. A fake plastic Ferrari? A rolling monument to deep-seeded insecurity.

  • I wouldn't say it's insecurity, just a love for the beauty of a Ferrari... especially the 250 GTO!

  • @Uberwagon IMHO, the Ferrari GTO 250 might be the most beautiful automobile ever made. Unfortunately, less than 50 were ever produced. Hence, even if one could afford a real one, let alone find one, it's not exactly the kind of car that can be regularly enjoyed on public roads. "Monument to deep-seeded insecurity" or tribute to a spectacular piece of automotive history - either way, it looks pretty damn good for a replica. Just the same, I'd probably leave the badges off.

  • Well cheaper than $28.5m an anoymous english buyer paid for one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yea that was the one bought from the Samsung guy right?

    Absolutely rediculous price lol

  • on person resintly bought one for 42.5m

  • how much it cost i mean the replik cause the original i uff haha

  • awful sound, which has nothing to do with this car.

  • Same as this plastic fake that has nothing to do with a Ferrari at all.

  • I have never understood cunts like you. You and all your family for the next 500 years could combine their life earnings and never afford to buy a real one of these. SO if you like the looks of the car, whats so terrible about a facsimile? Dont be such a cunt.

  • awesome song. go the who!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A Ferrari connoisseur can tell it's a replica right away by the stretched wheel base, rear tail and crome wheels. A good looking car like this is a great every day car that will sure draw attention every where you go.

  • not too grainy, but VERY nice work on the replica & the vid, 5 stars & fav

  • what is the song?

  • 'Won't get fooled again' by The Who

  • tkx m8

  • Beatiful replica. What,s the music play?

  • The Who--Won't Get Fooled Again....

  • nice replica! but the real Ferrari 250 GTO was never sold in yellow!

  • cant believe you sold it...i would have not done such a thing in my life have i had a replica or even the original! but its ur choice i guess...

  • Sacrilege! Nice to see but, when you look under the hood?? Terrific!

  • shit this looks like original

  • 1st class!

  • Yeah, if one can not have the original, go for the next best thing. Ive always thought the 250GTO was one of the most beautiful cars in the world.

  • unbeleaveable replica great work

  • i also have the same replicar that i'm working on... and my comment to all the negative people is, that with only 36 originals that next to noone can afford to buy, a replicar is the next best alternative for those of us who admire the history and beauty of the original!

  • Nice replica, a job well done. Why does anyone care if it's not anyway. Just means you cant race it GT style.

  • i wouldnt mind if it was a replica coz lets face it what car made today looks as good as this

  • Actually, really good video work too. nice work. Topped off with a very appropriate song. Just stay on your bloody side! ;-))

  • Very nice replica but stay on your side of the road, would ya?

  • fauxrari... I like the pun

  • I'm ashamed to say i was fooled for a minute. Nice video

  • the windscreen is diferent, but I got fooled. Very good job. I wish I had one like that.

  • why this music, the one and only music that fit this type of video is a roaring V12! it's a pitty

  • because probably there isn't a V12 ;)

  • probably you don't know anything about cars

  • probably you are not able to read?! this is a REPLICA. And I think they AIN't got a V12 Engine made by Ferrari in their garage. Or the the money to buy one.

  • A Ferrari in anything other that Red! is a crime, especially a 250 GTO.....

  • Good thing is a datsun then ehh

  • sorry but IMO the 250 gto is the only ferrari that sould be black is perfect in black!

  • io li ammazzerei di botte quelli che fanno le repliche

  • beautiful car.

  • 'Won't get fooled again..' ho ho

  • Enthusiasts must aspire to the real thing but just 36 fortunate individuals are qualified to sneer at those who don't. I've never seen the datsun version, it's hardly a match for a proper ferarri V12 based recreation but it's not as dull as 95% of the cars on the road, what I object to is the revolting colour (perhaps a faux version of the famous "Giallo Fly" Ferrari yellow?).

  • Well I guess we know what all the snobs think now, don't we?.....I think I speak for all us "commoners" when I say thanks to you for letting us know that when we "poor" people have fun, it REALLY chaps your manicured asses. F whiny rich boys!

  • Loving this car. The thing that used to put me off replicas was the fact that it seemed like giving up hope - you'd settled for an MR2 instead of working towards an F355. You'd need assets of £10m to be able to run one without worrying about it. So - to all the idiots who've taken the high ground, you're never going to drive a GTO so go back to your Boxsters and think why you're really pissed off. It's not at this guy, it's because you can't afford a 288GTO let alone a 250 GTO.

  • Yes, this is obviously a replica, but outside of a concours or Ferrari meet, how often do you see a 250 GTO?

This is a fun car to drive and it gets plenty of looks and smiles from the 95% of people who don't know one Ferrari from the next, and I like it that way.

So thanks for the positive comments, and congratulations on spotting a replica (if may have been a little easier if you just read the description).

Oh, and the dead giveaway is the fuel filler...

  • My compliments to you. Well done!

  • The one with the real Ferrari GTO is 3:12 long.

  • Look for the video titled Ferrari 250 GTO with an authentic red '62 facing you.

Open and start this vid in one browser window (narrowed to half screen width), and open and start the vid of the real GTO in another browser window right beside it (also narrowed)... and compare the lines on the two cars.

I apologize if this offends anyone, but there are some things that just shouldn't be faked.

The Ferrari GTO is one of them.

  • Uh... not close... and certainly no cigar.

I'm a huge fan of the 250 GTO, and if I saw this car on the road, it would make me sad... it's too obvious that it's a fake.

Interesting that "Won't Get Fooled Again" was picked as the soundtrack... emphasis on "won't get fooled."

    LOL

  • Its the shape of the front, the width at the rear along with the rear windscreen and then the windsheild wipers were a dead give away. Still a great car though!

  • Very good job...

There is no difference for the common people...

    :)

  • Thanks for the positive comments, I'll put up a video with sound, but keep in mind it's a nissan six cylinder, not an Italian V-12...

  • That's a really good replica. How does it sound though, that's the only thing that might give it away. i'd be hard pressed to tell the difference

  • Please keep the engine sound on the video!!!!

  • The Who is great and all but come on. How many times have you heard this song and how many times have you heard a Ferrari? Lose the music dude.

  • The tragedy of the working class, is the poverty of their desires.

  • Thanks for all the comments! The car is a Tom McBurnie replica of a 250 GTO handbuilt by our friend Roger Calhoun of ABS Inc in NC. The car sits on a 240Z chasis with a 280Z motor and an exhaust tuned to sound as much like a real 250 GTO as possible. Google 'Thunder Ranch' if this has inspired you to build your own :)

  • NO WAY!! That was a very good replica there. Honestly. I'm impressed. I couldn't hear the sound of the engine though...I'll just imagine it.

  • Well, as it says, its a replica of a 250 made on a datsun chassis, either a 240z or a 280z, dunno, but its certainly a good car in its own right, saw an article about this conversion in a mag about 12 years ago. ;o)

  • I think this is a replica of the GTO , no?

    Nice video!

  • It seems like a replica of a GTO made with a corvette

  • Nice recreation! Great video!
