  • great music ;)

  • Looks lovely, great job! If you make another, you may think about leaving room under the burn chamber for an inch of vermiculite insulation, so the stove can be set on something like a table without burning/disfiguring it.

  • what's in that pot? what you having? beef stew or.??

  • were is the air intake

  • @beachfiredude under the sticks.

  • Ho leeeey Good thing the title said rocket stove...

I thought it was a blast furnace to melt car parts or something.

Waaay more fire than needed to cook.

White man=build big fire=burn food=stay warm going after more firewood.

    Indian=small fire=cook food=nice meal=stays warm.

Ok, so that may not be the exact words. So sue me. Hahahaha

  • Love it!! Love the music too! lolol

    Well Done.

  • Very nice rocket stove. Looks very professional.

  • fucking stupid annoying music

  • @yahoopig do you not know how to mute?

  • @bctruck

lol not only doesnt he know how to mute but he is an intolerant baby .

  • very impresive

  • Why are you not explaining how you made it?

  • i got a 1 gal can free and about $6 in other parts to build mine !

  • Hi DeeBee,

Are you using forced air? Are there any holes at the bottom to supply oxygen? I can only manage to produce those flames with forced air ... It's amazing!

    Please let me know

  • I thought rocket stove is suppose to be clean?

  • I like your design, but I hate the soot.

  • @jwwm2

put a little liquid soap on the bottom of the pot or just dedicate one for this stove....

  • @jwwm2 This music is fucking horrible.

  • @jwwm2 just don't use pine wood or any that has a lot of sap

  • what a great idea for outdoor parties. they could be used to heat things up, and guests could make smores. fun.

  • I agree with banjerman , It's called a video, , but it comes with AUDIO ! USE IT !

  • not safe

  • Dude, you put too much wood and the flame is extra big, which is not necessary.

  • i accidently made one without insulation check it out (its intended job was to heat a room.)

  • @pcblah

This stove is intended for outdoor use only. Carbon Monoxide is always a product in this kind of combustion and it will kill.

  • @DeeBee15537 wat? i know that but??? why you tell me?

  • @DeeBee15537 Please Answer Why Does Ur Flame Go So High Is There A Fan Or Somthing Cuz I Cant Get MY Flames To Go That High

  • Is that working on just convection, or is it forced air?

  • @turborabbit1114

    Only convection

  • nice.

  • That's a fine Rocket Stove you've built there, if I've ever seen one.

  • Do u sell these? I want one!

  • Kill the music and let us hear why it is called a rocket stove.

  • @c9ari

There is a thermal mass heater called a rocket stove. But in third world countries this design is used for cooking.

  • This video is 2yrs. old. Do you still use your stove? I'm making one like this, and have already made a similar one. just wanted to know how long they last?????

  • Complex hobo stove but that's still really cool

  • I cant believe people confuse the Winarski rocket stove (which this is) with the the thermal mass rocket heater, (which this obviously isn't). Nice design, man, good smokeless cookstove.

  • What is boiling time for a quart of water?

  • @razorJS

About two minutes. It depends on the shape of the container, lid or no lid, weather, wind etc.

  • @DeeBee15537 wrong .. the exact boiling time has been ,shown to be a lot longer than the time which ,you have said , the exact boiling time , is 134 seconds ,and not 2 minutes ,

  • combustion chamber need to be higher. you can simply add one more piece

  • It is a rocket stove as some use the term, although it is not a thermal mass indoor rocket stove. The vermiculite inbetween the two layers does insulate the chamber for greater efficiency. It is a prototype so the size of fuel and air opening can be changed.

  • Назад в будующее?

  • Not a true rocket stove. You still need to add a verticle wood feed, and a burn tunnel. This is more like an outdoor fire place/bar-be-que.

  • I'm not saying this is the most efficient thing I've ever seen, but why doesn't this qualify as a "rocket stove"? It's not the most insulated thing ever and more air restriction at the wood is feed would be better, but it's still using chimney heat to create more convection than that which would be possible from burning ends of the 7 tiny sticks. The flames shooting out the top is evidence of that. Are you just a troll or what?

  • The term "Rocket Stove" is used to refer to a paricular burn configuration using a downdraft firebox to preheat the fuel and air, a horizontal burn tunnel surrounded by heat mass to increase burn temperature, a vertical stack to create draft followed by a concentric downdraft heat reclaiming section to begin radiating the heat, and then usually going through more heat mass.

This has no features that set it apart from a normal fireplace, and none that are shared with the rocket stove.

  • I am not knocking this design, this is a good survival cook stove, and I may share it the next class I teach.

I was defending Lakewood85 against an un-called for accusation of being a troll. He was correct according to our understanding of what a rocket stove is (based on the normal usage of the term)

This stove may sound like a rocket, but a fireplace can too, when you have this kinda fire going in it!

The only problem with calling this a rocket stove is the confusion with the other design.

  • hrhrhrh :D freakkkky fire ^^

  • I really don't get what's so cool about mini hobo stoves... I mean the video's great but I don't get why this is interesting...

  • because it's a way to make a quick stove in a survival type situation

  • Great stove. I have made a wood gas stove that used a electric fan but rocket stoves are the same thing just uses a smarter way to generate air flow. KISS it is so true if you ke it simple it has less chance to fail.

  • Great Stove Idea. The flame looks to be out of control, have you tried using a larger pot? Maybe even a windscreen that fits close to the base of the pot for better flame control?

  • how do you make the holes in the can ??

  • nail punch, hammer and then metal snips or aviation shearers. LOL

  • this is amaizing

  • Cool!
