  • Does the same thing work if, like Deepak, you're addicted taking dumb peoples cash?

  • @mryellow123 About 90 % off people think they are at least a little bit smarter then average. So go take an iq test and come back and say it again if you are really as smart as you think you are.

  • @itsmedontusee 143 and your point is?

  • @mryellow123 you have to be smart to get it. lol

  • @mryellow123 147

  • no I'll be honoust one time i tested it and it was 147 and the second time it was 126 and the third time it was average not sure what the number was. Then i found out i had add. Then I found out i had bipolar which means you have periods that you can and cant concentrate.

  • @itsmedontusee IQ tests are mostly, completely, flawed. There are several different versions and most are focused on English language and culture. It's never a good basis for any argument. I didn't even want to say mine because it's so inconsequential.

Send some cash over to Deepak, I'm sure it'll make you feel better.

  • @itsmedontusee You know smart people are actually easier to scam? They think their own way through the bullshit and convince themselves or often think they have an angle and can "beat the scammer". Still doesn't change the fact they're dumb people.

Anyway, back on topic, Deepak is a scumbag.

  • Chopra talking out of his ass again. Nobody reduce quits ever, we all smoke the last one and say fuck off cigs. Listen to Allen Carr who actually knew what he was talking about (while he was alive). Chopra just uses different stuff to mix and match his spooky language and make money from naive believers.

  • @makemarker I appreciate your sentiments about Chopra, believe me. But in this case, I actually think he got it right - although he probably stole it from someone else and is paying them royalties not to come forward. Anyway, yes, pay 100% attention to smoking, out in the open air, beneath a breathtaking sunset. Experience smoking 100% and you will see the truth - that it's toxic and harmful and you don't need it. I quit last year after 15+ years and I did it very much how chopra (ass) says ;)

  • @FathomlessJoy I quit with Allen Carrs method, no philosophy really. It was just a matter of gaining awareness and realizing the futility of smoking, health hazards, needless money spending etc. Also had a 15+ year run ;) Happy for you mate, as I am happy for anyone who can break free from this useless and damaging activity.

  • @makemarker Oh, and yes, Allen Carr was a genuis! I learned a great deal from him, reading his book half a dozen times. At the end of the day, pay 100% attention to it and you will quit. I tell me friends/family who smoke this and none of them get it. Oh well....

  • When it comes to smoking, I recently discovered that I hit rock bottom when I actually called the 800 number on my pack of smokes to complain and get answers to why the last 3 packs i bought at 3 different stores were like smoking charcoal and really hurt my lungs and liver. I wanted to know what they substituted their usual mixture with.... After I got off the phone I looked in the mirror and realized what a hypocrite i was. Then i began to cry.

  • I started smoking when I was a teenager - one package a day.

I smoked for years, then stopped, but started again every now and then when I had stress in my life. The cigarette is something to cling to, when you need something to hold on to, something to suck in (Osho compares it to sucking in the warm mother's milk!), something that gives you peace & comfort.

BUT: The funny thing is...smoking has NO advantages, only disadvantages!

    THINK ABOUT IT!

It is all in the mind - your body will follow!

  • @karadiberlino I liked a lot of what you wrote. But this "It is all in the mind - your body will follow!" The think is backwards. Maybe. I am not sure what you mean by it. But I think if our mind pays attention to the body while smoking, 100% total attention - just like Chopra (who I generally can't stand!) says, the mind will have not choice but to quit. It is killing the body and the body can't stop it. The mind has to. 100% Free from cigarettes since Oct 10, 2010!!!!!

  • @FathomlessJoy

What I meant was that once you fully UNDERSTAND how stupid smoking is, you will not feel the need on the physical level.

It is difficult when you stop cold turkey - I'd always suggest to cut down & stop when the time is right.

But it is different with everyone - a friend of mine stopped from one day to another. The funny thing is, she said while smoking her last cigarette (which was not the plan) she thought: "Hey, I don't need this!" - and stopped.

    Which proves what I said.....

  • @karadiberlino Whether you go from 30 to 0 or 20 to 0 or 5 to 0 or 1 to 0, eventually you have go to 0 ;) Cutting down always had the opposite effect on me - it made me want them more, made them seem more precious. I have yet to hear of a quitter who successfully 100% quit by cutting down. I am so glad to finally be at 0 and be FREE! I truly wish you all the best in your quest to quit!

  • It works, I think. After nearly eight years of smoking, I've cut back significantly. Yes, I haven't completely abandoned the habit. But, I went from half-a-pack a day, to about one stick per day. So, at least I've made progress. I followed Deepak's simple advice--ask the body, listen to its response, and with vigilance, you'll get the message that the body actually does NOT want to cigarettes. I slip up every now and again. But, it's a process. :)

  • I think we have to be honest with ourselves when it comes to cigarettes. We say cigarettes are addictive but most people who smoke 2 packs a day sleep a full 8 hours without a cigarette. So, is it really a chemical addiction? If it were then wouldn't it be impossible to go a full 8 hours without withdrawal symptoms? I think not. So, apparantly it is a mental addiction and we only have to figure out what reason we use the cigarettes. Then we learn new ways to express our feelings and quit.

  • @sandietxf It is a physical addiction with very mild withdrawal symptoms. This is compared to herion that is addictive, with potentially violent withdrawal symptoms. Nicotine itself is extremely addictive, much faster than herion even. And, they put over 400 chemical enhancements in cigarettes to increase the addiction. That is why an ex smoker can never have even 1 again. I was captive to this addiction for more than 15 years. The key to quitting was to see it for the addiction that it is.

  • @sandietxf Also, this is why the nicotine replacement therapies do not work at all! They just keep the smoker addicted to nicotine. When I wore the patch, I did not smoke, and I did not want to smoke. Why? I was getting nicotine through my skin all day. Clearly indicating its physical addiction. Why would I go back to smoking? Because I wanted the nicotine faster and other than IV, smoking is the fastest way to get any drug. How did I quit? Seeing the truth as I have written here was the key.

  • I smoked for 34 yrs and decided to get hypnotised after a one and a half hour session at most i quit and all i have left from it is a strange memory that i need to go buy cigarettes because i'm out. I will never give in to that memory, i'm free. I wasnt even sure she hypnotised me but i know i havnt had a cig in 9 days and counting.

  • i've been quit for just about a month and half now. Go jogging every other day, eat fairly well etc. I do crave one every now and then and I tell myself "yes I do want one, but i''m not going to have one"....and I haven't.

  • @iworkforme This is really the key to it. The withdrawal is so mild that we can just say no to it, and it goes away. Then it creeps back in a few minutes, no! and it goes away. Then after a few days it comes every couples hours, no! keeping saying no to it and after 2 weeks the nicotine is gone. Now, if you still think you enjoy the taste, or it relaxes you or helps with stress, you can be for years of heartbreak. I am not! I love not smoking and am grateful to finally be free!

  • Dear Deepak: Please go get a middle-school science education before you attempt to explain to the majority of the world's scientists why they are mistaken and you, somehow, are correct. You seem to have no shame about flaunting your ignorance in public -- I understand it makes you a lot of money, feeding ignorant people what they want to hear, but perhaps you should own up to the fact that you could not get a Ph.D in biology at ANY mainstream American or European university. Hmm...

  • will it work for quit smoking weed too? but i love weed ... it gives me knowledge. what else can really give this knowledge?

  • @samann95014 Instead of smoking it get a vaporizer or eat it. i would say vaporizer is your better bet since u need so much 2 cook with it. Spend money on a good vaporizer though not a cheap POS I promise u will regret it if u get a crappy 1:) Other than that marijuana is not very harmful physically and actually beneficial emotionally but anything can be over done.

  • @samann95014 The only harmful thing about smoking weed is the actual carcinages.. but if you can instead vape or eat it instead then you won't be causing any physical harm to your body. As for "gives knowledge" that comes down to learning how to open yourself up to hearing/seeing/knowing what is there all the time. The weed helps you relax and open mind to your higher self. The only problem with smoking it is that you are depending on it to do what you already can do, but aren't aware of it.

  • no such thing as will power ,there is only the wanting to power of your own mind ,you can do it and if you are struggling ,then ask yourself who is in control and what obstacles are stopping you quiting

  • i smoked for twenty five years, my future was grim, for some time i had been desperately trying to find a way to stop smoking patches gum etc, then one night i said i was quitting told my wife to throw the tobacco int he bin ,got up the next morning for work and the tobacco was by my van keys i picked it up and put it in the bin and i have never smoked since, the reason i stopped ? not will power no it was because i really wanted to power ,take the first step and mean it and you can to,

  • Deepak fuck you.

  • Abrupt quitting is better than decreasing number of ciggerettes to zero as doctors say. And keep on trying and trying....you will quit some day if you keep trying. I succeded quiting it the 5th time i tried to quit..still donot know if i m gonna relapse, but i know a thing is its not impossible and not very hard either.

  • ...not living in the moment would be a hinderance then. ....ahhh ...I see my problem. (However I grew up in a pub so I've always been in tobbacco smoke.

  • Oh... and one more thing. This is how I quit smoking. I used to smoke about 7-10 cigs a day (by no means a heavy addiction, but an addiction none the less).. I took up jogging, which was difficult as hell at first, but then again the high I got after a run was so intense that I didn't even need a smoke to get my heart rate up..it was already there, and if anything, a smoke would fuck up the natural high. I also got some 1mg nicotine lozenges..they helped a lot with the separation anxiety. GL!

  • I personally think (and this is just an opinion) that in order to give advice in regards to quitting smoking (or any other addiction for that matter) one would have to be a successful champion over said addiction themselves. All these non-smokers attempting to give advice to someone about quitting smoking generally do not understand the psychology of the addiction on a personal level. Also, everyone is prone to quitting subjectively, there is no objective way to quit smoking... good luck!!

  • put cigarettes in hard to get to spot. make them inconvenient to get to. hold cigarette in mouth for a while without lighting it, just kind of pretend to smoke it and hold off. buy a pack of herbal no nicotine cigarettes as well and alternate between them. yoga. meditate, deep breathing. ask your girlfriend to take her clothes off (distraction therapy)....

  • it's all good

  • Cool Ive noticed this since I started the practice of transcendental meditation, I still smoke, less now, but quitting is just around the corner for me. I dont know why i started, but now I smoke for two reasons, to calm my nerves :((damn addiction) and to show edge to those "gangsta" types who intimidate those who appear innocent in nature. I will not show judgmental(looks) to show edge because it further intimidates those who are even more meek and innocent than me

  • I'm reading everyone's comments below and amazed at the negativity and language. I'm also intrigued and happy that apparently very angry people are seeking out help through The Chopra Center. Try the Kaizen Principle for quitting smoking. It's a more detailed explanation of Dr. Chopra's advice. It takes time, but withdrawal will be gentle. Peace

  • Yes, I am seeing the same. The resistance is the signal that the ideas are correct. This is a fact that pervades human history. The comments that Chopra gets are vey similar to the ones I get, they are even worse. I never got a comment to have got suck my dick:) Youtube if fun, not sun. But I welcome it anyway because otherwise I would perhaps never see him talk because I have NO TV since 30 years. Not stop smoking is my advice, but smoke differently.

  • what an ugly comment. bitterness will kill you from the inside out equally...

  • This isn't an accurate summation of Dr. Chopra's addiction advice. There are some very important elements missing that make it sound weak and stupid. His advice is sound, and it would be more apparent if it were complete.

  • yes, we've all heard this advise before.

  • i can't...been trying forever. Gum, Patches, Breathing, Meditation and a combination of them all. I guess i have a addictive personality. which makes me weak. Weak mind. Weak willpower. What a loser. Congrats to you all that have stopped. I applaud you, its not easy.

  • The problem I've found with patches and gum is the action seems totally unrelated. I've tried the nicorette inhilator which worked while it was new and seemed novelty but then I went back to smoking when I got bored with it. Best way I'm finding is to just keep try and keep away from places that sell them and avoid other smokers while they're smoking like you have odd days where you fail but just count it as a day off an don't be hard on yourself about it.

  • don't give up eltonjam you will give up smoking one day. i smoked form 16 yrs old until i was 35. i don't miss smoking at all.

  • read the allen car easyway method and watch his videos.

you dont need willpower, or gum or patches.....his method is working for me....

    good luck.

  • I smoked over 20 a day for almost thirty years before I quit last December.

I'd failed to stop many times in the past because I actually liked smoking, but the reason I've managed to stop now is that I got sick of the whole business - the expense, the smell, the embarrassment etc.

A friend gave me four days' worth of nicorette microtabs for emergencies, but I've only needed one day's worth.

By giving up, I've saved about £350 - £400 so far. I've been set free, and I feel great!

  • Congrats!!

  • I have stopped and started many times in my life, I was a social smoker. One day I picked up a book on yoga - started an exercise plan and just quit like that! No addiction-nothing-it's purely a mental thing! Once you stop the body's dependency on nicotine is reduced by 80% in 24 hours. It's a bit like sugar in your tea or butter on your bread - you do it out of habit. When u get down to it - it is a mental thing and once you see that then it is pretty easy to quit-for good!regards & good luck

  • I think the thing that helped me quit smoking the most, is the practice of deep breathing. There is no hocus pocus about it. Take deep breaths for a long period, or if you can' t focus on that, go jogging. The act of smoking is the desire to feel exhilirated, only after smoking I always felt like crap. Now, remembering this fact.

  • Yeah you quit after 10 years. what I'd like to know is how many attempts you made before finally succeeding. It cannot be dropped like that. thats why they call it an addiction.

  • what a load of shit. niccotene is an addiction. Its one of the strongest before heroine. Are youy honestly telling me that standing on a beach will help you quit smoking? Fucking bullshit.

  • your an idiot.thats the problem. i quit after 10 years, pack a day guy to none for 6 months so far. its been so dame easy. nothing but good has come of it since! all in the mind.

  • Im not saying that its not all in the mind. but niccotene is one of the most addictive substances on earth. heroine being number 1. And it takes more than the mind and a fucking beach to get you to quit. have you seen the shit they put in cigarettes these days?

  • I used to think so but it's a mental thing. I was in Army basic training for 2 weeks before I realized I wasn't smoking.

  • Same here! I forgot that I smoked only seconds after arriving!. lol

  • Our minds were a little occupied ...

  • GET OFF THE TRUCK ! GET OFF THE TRUCK ! lmao! Some people have no idea what we went thru huh?>

  • the only cure to nicotine addiction is the nicotine patch.

  • to accept that there is no real pleasure, enjoyment or benifit from a ciggerrette and that all they do is take something away from you and partially return it, so you assume that the ciggerrette does great things for you (read the easy way to quit smoking by allen carr)

  • Markus, Deepak isnt very helpful in this vid. I started smoking when I was 18, and I quit first for a week, then for three months, then I quit for good. I havent smoked since August 2006. For me the first adjustment was giving up that morning smoke with coffee, which meant I got constipated. But if yu can pull through through the withdrawal sickness(take a week off if necessary) I just writhed in bed for abut a week, the I had a BM. Non-smoker ever since. Yu can do it. If I can do it, so can u,

  • Edgar Cayce says basicly the same thing. Be consious every moment you are smoking and detail the entire act of smoking the cigarette.

  • Alan Carr ... etc. There are numerous ways to stop ... just say no to guru saviors.

  • Thank-u for this, I am in the process of quiting, 3weeks with out a cigg, for me a moment at a time

  • ok... good!

    I'll try this.

  • I quit smoking cigarettes and painlessly withdrew from my nicotine addiction using only Diaphramic Breathing.....its free...painless...and completely EFFECTIVE........

  • Actually he did smoke

  • actuality it works.

  • I am looking for the deepak chopsticks video 'quitting going to whores" anybody seen it?

  • whores are good for health, sacred beings send from heaven.

  • Its hard as hell to quit smokin,im trying to slowly stop right now, they taste like shit but i still geek for em,ive been smoking 20 yrs im such a dumbass for ever starting.

  • @GroveStreetHustla the only option i found, is to realize that its not good for you. and it actually doesn't do anything helpful for you in anyway, it doesn't make you calmer or pass time................. you will be little closer to quit the nicotine monster!

  • @GroveStreetHustla I understand deeply that sorrow, my friend. For I too have slept in that cave. I recommend acceptance - of the cigarette, of where you are, of what you're feeling, and of the addiction. See if you can accept and love yourself, just as you are right now! While you do this, see if you can give 100% of your energy to the cigarettes, how they make you feel, before, during, after, without condemnation. It's key not to condemn, as it does not solve this, it is part of the cycle.

  • thanks now im hook on smoking weed

  • I had no probs stopping the weed (I am searching for a new job), thing with weed is it tastes and smells sooo good but at least for me was totally non addicting, the cigarettes on the other hand are like some evil crack.

  • It IS awesome, Terry because his point will guide you to "enlightenment". He says "go ahead and smoke" and then listen to your body. So, ALLOW for the smoking THEN pay attention to your body. This is transcendence. This is the key to life. You ALLOW anything that arises and you can see it clearly then it can be dealt with sanely.

  • it's all up to your mind! you can do anything with it.. quitting smoking is a good start for finding out what your mind can do for you when you are connected to it..

  • you might smoke 20,5,2,1,5,15,30

  • LOL hehehe

  • hahaha...hahahahaha...man..that is so true

  • Guilty meself!

  • i tried this living on the jersey shore...ended up doing pretty much what you said Ariel.

  • Deepak knows about smoking because HE USED TO SMOKE! He said he quit after seeing these healthy ballet dancers; there was such strong LIFE imagery, that smoking seemed absurd by comparison.

  • I thought this was an awesome video. Funny there are no other comments here.
