DA:O easily scores 9/10 from the list of RPGs I've played, but I can't score DA2 any higher than 6/10. An RPG series needs story continuity to flow, and too many looses ends in DA:O weren't explored in DA2, instead choosing a rather bland Hawke. Also, exploration is extremely limited, making gameplay repetitive. Bioware and EA dumbed down the game to appeal to the CoD gamers, but in essence killed the series. Overall DA2 was a massive step backwards.

DA:O you can't get the awesome armor or weapons in the cinematic trailers DA2 you can get the armor but not the weapons in the begging your on the right track bioware but please try to take the extra step next time

@crazymoron66 if you've done any research you should know there are armor/weapon dlcs which are the replica of the ones you see in the trailers. Check Dragon Age Nexus out, you'll find plenty of stuff to keep you occupied.
