  • Amazing! Love it!

  • you know when you listen to something pretty amazing and you get goosebumps...

  • Ditch the wigs and the choriography. It's not the dancers' fault.

  • I really do love this, but I can't help being reminded of Bubbles from Little Britain.

  • such a shame to put norton and hodge on the same stage. Norton was blown out the water!!

  • he looks like subo in the second bit

  • George Hearn could give him a few lessons in subtext.

  • @elzbieta52 but george hearn was not feminine enough to play Albin well. Hodge is marvellous!!

  • @elzbieta52 I love sub-texting. It makes everything become real =)

  • I don't understand, did Graham Norton play Albin or just a La Cage 'girl'? I'm so confused.

  • @fountainchain126 He played Albin during a season, so both famous Albins had to be there singing and making us enjoy their perfornances

  • LOL Andrew owns that theatre - he just had to get his fizzog on the telly! Lol love him really.

  • I hope Douglas Hodge shines on Broadway, maybe ill consider seeing the show...

  • I much prefer Gary Beach. Gary has the perfect mix of femininity and the masculine vocal tone that is become expected with this role. This guy just doesn't have the resounding baritone voice for this role. He tries, but its just not there.

  • I saw this musical in London at xmas ,the day it finished!! Was absolutely blown away ,fantastic. Im Australian, & even got to have a foto taken with Nick, the cagelle in the blue wig,who is also an Aussie, so Nick if u read this ,please get in touch!! xxx

  • saw this in london and it is coming to Broadway~Must see it again-Hodge is brilliant and fagulous!

  • @molliecoyle

the person they 'picked to sing' happens to be Doulgas Hodge (who, incidentally, won the Oliver award and received huge critical acclaim). I saw Douglas twice before the end of the run and it was one of the greatest performances I have ever witnessed. The 'goat' voice you're referring to is an homage/intertextual reference to Edith Piaf and other cabaret stars.

  • @joeknowswhoheis he also won the tony awards for the same role....

  • from 1:36 to 1:45 what the hell, he sounds like a goat,i seen la cage and it is a top west end show and they picked him to sing??i saw it with john barrowman he so brill!!

  • i saw it a while ago with grahem norten :)

he is the most amazing person in the entire world ever :) xxx

  • The beginning is like We Are What We Are done by Bob Fosse and the Cabaret Girls

  • Saw this last night. Douglas Hodge was just incredible.Best stage musical I've ever seen.

  • @kirsti191 Douglas Hodge is incredible. I'd love to see him doing it on Broadway.

  • @beguilingeyes He us reprising his role in the Bway Revival opening this season

  • I Am What I Am moved em to tears.

  • 1:36-1:43 what the hale?

  • He is performing in the style of Edith Piaf ...

  • This "I Am What I Am" is one of the best Ive ever heard! Who is the actor??

  • Hi It's Douglas hedge best actor for musiacl this year I comme back from London and I saw him He wa fantstic actor!

  • @actressindemaking that's Olivier and Tony winning Douglas Hodge. Stll playing Albin on Broadway, with Kelsey Grammer as Georges.

  • It's coming to Longacre Theatre on Broadway on April 18th, 2010

  • i kind of like how trashy it looks, its hysterical

  • is it true that this production is coming to broadway in the spring?

  • Yeah Its True , The 10th Of April I Do Believe Is The Correct Date , :-)

  • Great, entertaining performances. Only thing for me was the solo "I Am What I Am", to wit I would have enjoyed a pure baritone/bass voice, without the inflection. Les Cagelles, though, were sweet and the show, of course, a statment for the

80's and is still as poignant today as it was 25 yrs ago. Not that much has changed. Bravo!

  • Hold that breath and no winking of eyes and witness these spectacular performances with gayish temperament, style and improvisation only true artists can deliver!!!!

    Bravissimi!!!!!

  • Awesome!!!!

  • unfortunately when i went on the 30th graham was ill. adrian der gregorian played his part and was amazing. he reminded me a lot of douglas hodge.

  • i adore this musical.

seen it twice now, i adore les cagelles so muchh - they are just incredible.

  • I saw this with graham norton yesterday and i though he was brilliant. completely unrecognizable than the performance he gave in this. his singing voice will never be brilliant, but his acting was wonderful. incredibly funny and so heartbreaking at times. i would really recommend it.

  • Indeed I saw it on Easter Monday. Norton was great but agree on the voice! Simply loved the maid Jacob. The Cajelles were gorgeous. However, am old enough to have seen the play in Paris and the film (in French). Would recommend it highly. The nuances in French unfortunately cannot be translated into English. Otherwise high entertainment at La Cage.

  • I don't think Graham Norton himself is expecting to be as good as Hodge. At the end of the day, he's trying something new. I don't believe he thinks he's gonna be a West End sensation like Hodge is. We love the Graham Norton we see on the TV and I respect him for trying this. You could say the same thing about Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd. Although, it was a film he was out of his comfort zone. I'm not comparing Depp and Norton though. Two completely different personalities.

  • a supose he was only doing it for entertainment nothing else i think.

  • He's taking over for Hodge in the West End.

  • I had no idea that Graham was in this, he really is sensational!

  • This is sensational - as is Douglas Hodge. I'm booking to see him!

  • better hurry up as douglas hodge finishes in january, then graham norton is taking over, dont think g.n will be very good tho, espically after having seen hodge a few times

  • He is singing "La Cage Aux Folle"

  • whats the song graham is singing?? it a really good performance!

  • that i am what am i am completely blew me away

    wowza.

  • graham norton is actually doing this?!

oh he wont be as good as douglas hodge. he's amazing.

but i think this is even better live and in it's current theatre its much smaller and more intimate, this doesnt do it justice.

  • I saw this last month free thanks to my contacts, then again... and am off to see it on Douglas Hodge last performance, dont think graham norton will be as good though, shame. go see this musical!!!! soooo good

  • Thank you for this Michael...whoever you may be. Actually found myself clapping infront of the screen. How sad! So proud of Dane, can't wait to see the show. Well done gorgeous boy and the cast...looks amazing!
