I want to answer to you and remember one thing to Dankku94 : the start concept of Lada cars was Fiat 124 (Zhiguli -2101/03) & Fiat 125 ( 2103),though still produced in Russia & other countries are genuine Italian projects..:)

My first car was a '79 Lada when I lived in Canada. They were called a "lada crap" for good reason! It's funny NOW when I look back on it.

They came with any option you wanted as long as it was a 4 door, 4 speed, with cloth brown interior, and no A/C - OK, you could pick the paint color - mine was ORANGE... (shudder) Oh, and it rusted like crazy.

LADA whatever model version it is has had BAD reviews everywhere. The only people who like lada are russians and some polish other then that the rest of europe has declared it a cheap outdated boring can of worms Fiat knock off!! Absolute rubbish car!!

I have owned one and its was horrible in everyway, slow, noisy, rough gearchange, apalling build and the plastics were a joke, it rusted really bad, the handling was dangerously bad, heater matrix blex after 21k miles!!! The biggest joke was the cheap centre console was actual fixed to the carpet by small screws actually into the carpet itself!!!

I have a roadtest sheet of one in New Zealand in 1979 - the main things of the car was that it had a MPH speedometer, mag wheels that would have cost as much as the car - and that its Russian radio had a habit of picking up broadcasts from the Wellington international airport control tower!

Yes you're right. The commercial is Finnish. As well as in many other non-communist countries, Lada was a relatively well selling product in Finland in 70's due to it's affordable price and adequate quality.
