  • norm macdonald!

  • holly shit when did i join this band

  • going through the big shiny tunes lists. nostalgia errywhere.

  • @envoy3 Me too. Big Shiny Tunes 2 FTW!

  • I love all the random images that flash across the screen during this video. Don't know if there's any pattern to them or not, or if that's my brain filling in the gaps, but I always secretly felt like there's some underlying social commentary to the whole thing.

  • i love this band.... chased and hung out with them when i was 13 back in the day.... chased them to a chinese restaurant

  • This video made me unsubscribe

  • @LRtrain1 really? I find appeal in the ultra-90s feel and interesting lyrics.

  • awwhhhhhh :) such a great song

  • AOE is AOK! I miss my teen-hood.. :'( I miss hanging out with these guys - so nice ;)

  • I SERIOUSLY CAN'T FIND MY REMOTE CONTROL RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!

    >: (

  • i miss much music. The way it was

  • I fully agree with spitballer09!!!!

  • CKUA.com is a non-profit and plays various musics on it's many programs and x929.ca has some interesting tunes at times.

  • aahh fuckin right! the 90s!

  • The music isn't any better or worse, people. You were just younger and naive back then, and you didn't know any better. It's called nostalgia. Today's teens will be saying the same thing 15 years from now.

  • @Ishkur23 Not likely. If things are like the way they are going now, in 15 years today's teens will be saying

"in my day there was still Rock & Roll music". Music has been regressing from the end of the Sixties. Back then the Doors, Hendrix, Stones, Beatles, Joplin, Zeppelin ruled. And what rules now? " I got a feeling, that tonight is going to be a good night..." what the hell kind of pablum is that?!? Bieber & GaGa are light years of regression. Its like the early pre Rock '50s crooner era!

  • @TVGuido which means we're in an advanced version of the 1950's and soon it will be back the way it should be.

  • BIG SHINY TUNES forever...

  • @ScarlemD

Loved the first 2 discs. After that they started to lose me.

  • aaaah 0:27

  • I can honestly say i have went as far back as the 50's for music that substitutes the utter and complete ( fill in this blank for me, because I can't find the words, thanks) tones today, that is called "music".

If you haven't done so yet, i strongly suggest taking a trip back in the musical realm, great, great stuff. only bad side is that it will put in perspective just how shitty music has become.

  • I MISS THE 90's ROCK SCEEEENE... so many great bands... the ratio of quality vs crappy bands was like 20:1... today its like 1:10000000

  • The guitar player - in the green shirt - looks a lot like James McAvoy LOL

  • @VanessaKrystle Ryan Dahle ftw!

  • this so brings me back to highschool. i miss those times in the later 90's :(

  • @mirianm99 same here. Grade 9, summer, for me...

  • I have been in love with this song for ages but I never knew who sang it cuz the stupid FM stations never tell ya. Todd Kerns is amazing... and sexy.

  • @alessandrosgirl Todd Kerns is amazing. I recently found out he was considered to front Velvet Revolver and is currently touring with Slash as his bass man

  • Great drumming in the chorus.

  • @79jer1979 kurt dahle is one amazing drummer,,ever see him do the twirl flip stick fill thingy

  • Lynn Lake Represent!!!

  • Please tell me when the fuck music change so much? Damn I feel old! Great upload, takes me back to the good old days!!!!

  • @Sesquip...

Wow, this page resembles intelligent discourse. Well done. Yeah, there are guitar-based bands out there, but they're not on the bestsellers charts. Just as well, I guess. They're ours to discover. I have to tell you, when I heard the Kings of Lyon do "Crawl" for the first time, I fell off my chair. But these gems are few and far between these days.

  • God damn I miss these guys!!

  • nvm, I figured it out

  • Represent SK! Used to love AOE when they were mainstream in the 90's....

  • 1:37 = frontbum

  • @eswainz that... i think... mangina?

  • These guys would never make it today because they don't sound like a Nickelback clone.

  • little bro limblifter listen up

  • Awesome!!

  • the 90's!! i wish it was still the 90's:(

  • Wow, havent heard this song in forever!!!! good call an uploading this!! AOE rocks

  • TO HELL WITH THE HILLS, THE O.C. PROJECT RUNWAY AND ALL THAT SHIT!!! SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CAN FUCKIN' DIE AS WELL!

c'mon bring back the music, it's called MUCH MUSIC!

  • @Spitballer09 MuchMusic died in 1998 when it started showing tv shows and the vj's slowly started dsiappearing.... Remember Erica Ehm? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @Spitballer09 I totally agree there i member videos ALL DAY not 2 vids by a pop artist n than 5 shows till late n than good music at 1am

  • Much Music isnt what it used to be...its all shit now.

  • "Muchmusic Spotlight"! How I miss thee, when it was on everyday. So much for providing music with substance, nowadays.

  • These guys are awesome. I remember when I saw them perform at Playland in Vancouver back in the late 90's and when they played this song someone chucked a remote control on to the stage. LOL!!

  • i miss when music this good was on the radio.

  • An earlier post suggested this band would be huge right now if they were recording in 2009. Uh, I don't think so. Sadly, the market for guitar-based bands is disappearing. I can't explain it. And why is Green Day getting so much press, when bands like this languish in the background. Who's pulling the levers?

  • i love green day! and im trying to figure out if u just insulted or complimented them :S lol

  • considering you have a few thumbs down.... take a guess

  • @Marky61

the mainstream media holds all the cards and chooses what we are to listen too. We must all search ourselves to discover bands and music thats real and true to the soul. not to mention this is like Raw Poetry, 90's rock!!! WOOT!

  • @Marky61 "the market for guitar-based bands is disappearing"

I've heard that said dozens of times and I'm sorry but it's total bollocks. The guitar has been the main instrument in pop and rock since the 50s.

Green Day use guitars. That's why they're popular.

Don't get me wrong, Age Of Electric are clearly the better group :) I'm just tired of hearing this "no one likes guitars" nonense, it clearly isn't true.

  • @Marky61 The Canadian music market has a large demand for guitar-based bands. The CRTC is a very powerful organization, able to make mediocre bands popular world wide.

    Just a fact.

  • @Marky61

well as to "who's pulling the levers?"

It's a youth market that doesn't know or care to understand where music came from and the influence that they've had on today's bands.

Each generation that is on the rise seems to forget more and more where music came from and why it was the "music that moved a generation", not this stuff that dies after a week.

  • @Marky61 the market for guitar based bands isn't disappearing the bands just cant write music anymore

  • @Marky61 i just started listening to american idiot and its a pretty unreal album. thats why

  • @Marky61 Amazing....Your comment is 2 years old, and I STILL don't have an answer, for nothing has changed - It's just gotten worse.

  • Fuck yeah, Sask. Rock!

  • such a masterpiece. stone classic and what a chorus!!!

  • Once I knew this was a Canadian band it made this song 10 times more enjoyable.

  • for sure. its a great song anyways

  • YES

    brings me back

  • dude you rock. i was looking for this band but i couldn't remember the name for the life of me. man i miss the days when candian music aired in the states.

  • sweet, thanks for the upload!

  • Anyone know where I can find an .mp3 of this song? Not on iTunes n I can't find it.

  • i can send it to you?

  • canadian :)

  • lol, so 90's.

  • canadian bands are way ahead of the music curve...or they use to be...this band would have been huge if they came out in the 21st century....instead the lead singer stole my old record store managers financee...lol ohhh my

  • I love these sorts of videos! Ed the sock used to complain about all the 'crap', but I miss it

  • reminds me of U2

"even better than the real thing"

    good jam

  • how so? u2? really?

  • I get the reference...the video has a bit of Zoo TV U2 going on with some of the camera movements.

  • man canada has got THE BEST bands/musicians ever, i mean we got dallas green, our lady peace, sam roberts, the black maria, finger eleven, three days grace, billy talent, and of course age of electric

  • the cover done at tec stock was better i just wish i had the tec stock vid

  • How many of these band members were from Regina, Saskatchewan?

Just curious. I believe they had a side project with "Limblifter".

Great stuff! This video/song was awesome.

AOE heads - give us the dope, please!

  • Yeah - The Dahle brothers (I believe that is how it is spelled) started limblifter when Todd and John Kerns started Static in Stereo. Both bands are awesome!

  • we used to be total Age of Electric Groupies- followed them all over Alberta "Aphrodisiac smile" the Best AOE song ever- we kinda had lost interest at this point when they cut there hair and went commercial- my friend Val was so in love with Todd and i will never forget taking off on her in Calgary to score one nite and the drummer cast a disapproving eye when we returned haha good times

  • my friend used to party with these guys. awesome vid. someone should put "aphrodisiac smile" on here
