@goglutin The trick is where you stand when he throws his scythe at you. Let it hit the ground, and you get the boomerang ridiculousness. Touch the wall just before he throws it, as I do here, and it'll hit the wall instead, causing him to use the laser eye attack, which is far easier to dodge. Just make sure to do that every time, and it'll help a lot.

you defeated sigma alot better then i do with zero,i never really had a hard time beating him with zero,playing zero in this game reminds me of ninja gaiden,because of all the close range attacks he has and of ocourse the wall dashing,he is really fun to play with.

Its possible some people have a hard time with Zero because they are more comfortable with X's long range and general ability to handle things at a safe distance vs Zero's need to get in close. Possibly half of one's ability to use Zero comes from sheer desire to play as Zero. Motivation is important. In this fight, close range encounters are frequent so to me, Zero makes more sense for this fight. Of course this all comes from a Zero fan so this post is what you make of it. Happy fightning. =)
I finally got the trick behind this boss fight. Stick to the wall before he throw the 2nd scythe. it must be easier for you because of the 2nd sigma's attack pattern. depending where you are on the screen, he does different things in return. i'm sure you already knew that. i recently went for a speed run on x4 and got screwed because i didn't dash off the wall right before his second time throwing the scythe. if you don't, he might do a different attack where he shocks the ground instead, and red things come out to hit you, and they are extremely hard to dodge completely. nice finish though.

I started this game today (with zero, already beat it with X) and got EVERYTHING and the only help I got was when I needed to see how to beat up the stingray and what boss is after the mushroom. I didn't get to sigma though, because of magma dragoon. So i haven't beaten the game yet.
nice fighting. in his first form though, when sigma dashes with the scythe, you can dash under his attack, and really fast turn around and do another flame uppercut for an additional hit (if you care about that kind of stuff). but good vid!

i've seen better u obviously copied this other guy i saw who got perfect on all 3 forms u used the same strategy as he did but u messed up alot on the last part.
because he will have enough time to shoot an electric ball at you while ur doing the Ryuenjin (remember that u cant dodge until ur done with the technique)
to avoid 2nd sigma from doing boomerangs, stick to the wall after his 1st attack (i think), the spinning revolving stick. he'll do the eye beam thing instead

It seemed for me that Kuuenbu was more useful when fighting laser sigma. The only part that was hard for me was when he became a trash can, but then I found out an easier way rather than hiding behind head Blu and rushing in.
at the main menu when select zero or x instead of pressing left or right. u press down or up. i think it was down for zero and up for x could be vice versa. but theres no point cuz black zero is the same as normal. just looks cooler. but on the other hand black x is alot better cuz he can use the nova strike. its a bit more complicated to get black x.
Why didn't you used black zero, I mean, why did you prefer the red zero rather than the black one? Anyway, what's the difference between the two (besides the color)?
No real reason, just depends on my mood. Figured I'd use the normal color for the videos. As for the difference, in X4 there isn't one. Aside from appearance, black Zero is identical to the red one. It's only X5 and later that the black version has enhancements.
It's not luck, actually. He throws the scythe in your general direction. If it hits the floor, he uses the incredibly annoying boomerangs. If it hits the wall, you're in good shape. So all you have to do is touch the wall just before he throws it.
You got lucky on the second form of Sigma because he never threw his scythe on the ground and released his shoulder boomerangs which is much more difficult to dodge then the his laser eyes across the floor.
I think it has much more to do with technique that it has to do with luck. If you notice, Sigma traces your moves to throw the scythe, and Cetega23 jumped to lure the scythe to the wall, triggering the eye laser attack. Yeah, the boomerang thingy is just plain annoying and that's how you get rid of it.
I heard this Sigma(X4) was relatively easy....

I always prefered Zero instead of X, many people says that it's very hard to play with zero, he's weak and bad to play and all kind of that shit.

When I played this game, Zero was the easiest character to use, even in the final battle.
X on the other hand...
Never managed to beat Sigma using X. Plus, I never found the armor upgrade...

I beated sigma with X and i got the armor upgrade it is in the lava stage at the end.

I always found it easier with X, I mean come on, distance vs close combat. Infinite abilities vs limited with X with his energy.
The Yellow head is the hardest to avoid, I got to the point where I took no damage though ^_^

It was actually a lot easier using Zero for me because I didn't have to constantly press A and S trying to find the right weapon.

It seemed for me that Kuuenbu was more useful when fighting laser sigma. The only part that was hard for me was when he became a trash can, but then I found out an easier way rather than hiding behind head Blu and rushing in.

at the main menu when select zero or x instead of pressing left or right. u press down or up. i think it was down for zero and up for x could be vice versa. but theres no point cuz black zero is the same as normal. just looks cooler. but on the other hand black x is alot better cuz he can use the nova strike. its a bit more complicated to get black x.

Why didn't you used black zero, I mean, why did you prefer the red zero rather than the black one? Anyway, what's the difference between the two (besides the color)?

No real reason, just depends on my mood. Figured I'd use the normal color for the videos. As for the difference, in X4 there isn't one. Aside from appearance, black Zero is identical to the red one. It's only X5 and later that the black version has enhancements.

It's not luck, actually. He throws the scythe in your general direction. If it hits the floor, he uses the incredibly annoying boomerangs. If it hits the wall, you're in good shape. So all you have to do is touch the wall just before he throws it.

You got lucky on the second form of Sigma because he never threw his scythe on the ground and released his shoulder boomerangs which is much more difficult to dodge then the his laser eyes across the floor.

I think it has much more to do with technique that it has to do with luck. If you notice, Sigma traces your moves to throw the scythe, and Cetega23 jumped to lure the scythe to the wall, triggering the eye laser attack. Yeah, the boomerang thingy is just plain annoying and that's how you get rid of it.
