Great song. It all revolves around putting your trust in the Lord. One of my favorite Bible verses: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5)
A friend recommended this song. I am confused by the lyrics. If this is a Christian...why is he locked out asking God to let him back in? This sound like conditional security and that this Christian is outside of God's grace. Then he says he is a prodigal and a hypocrite...again references to an unregenerated sinner in the scriptures. Jesus promised "The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." I would rather sing "Blessed Assurance."
The confusion there lies in the difference between immediate sanctification (i.e. salvation) and progressive sanctification (becoming holy). Once one has accepted Christ, they can never be "locked out" as you put it. They can, however, still be vulnerable to the effects of sin, such as temptation. Paul wrote about this, describing it as two natures at war within a person. The sin nature is beaten, but it is still alive and we still need God's strength to overcome it. Make sense now?
@Omnitrix12 I know what you are saying. I have found the same thing in my Bible Study. Fellowship is broken by sin, but relationship is not. However this is not what I read from their lyrics. I belonged to a church for four years that taught I could "fall from grace." Everything I was taught then...I read from this song. the lord is ever so wonderful and he is always here! my friend who is only 15 almost died of liver and kidney failure... i and my church, and my friends, and his friends and family,... we prayed for him constantly. for the lord to heal him. his liver is working again, and his kidneys are on their way to recovery!! he should be out of the hospital in 1-2 weeks!! thank you God sooooo much for EVERYTHING even if i dont deserve it, you always forgive! <3 <3 <3 :D

this song is so amazing! it really puts my faith in God back in line. cause being in the teenage stage, i tend to go with the flow to often, and when i hear this song, i realize all i can do is just give it all up to Him, and doing that, God with turn me around pick me up, undo what i've begun bring me back to the place of forgiveness and grace i need You i need Your help, i can't do this myself you're the only one who can undo what i've begun!

We were singing this at my school chapel right after a girl fainted who was singing on worship team..
&It was VERY emotional..
But God is amazing.. she was able to get up soon after.
But it was undeniable A LOT of people, including me, were going through struggles at the time.

the lord is ever so wonderful and he is always here! my friend who is only 15 almost died of liver and kidney failure... i and my church, and my friends, and his friends and family,... we prayed for him constantly. for the lord to heal him. his liver is working again, and his kidneys are on their way to recovery!! he should be out of the hospital in 1-2 weeks!! thank you God sooooo much for EVERYTHING even if i dont deserve it, you always forgive! <3 <3 <3 :D

The lord has worked a miracle in my life. I cant even compare what I used to be like without him. I just found out that one of my friends has cancer, and I know he will be with me through it and wipe away me tears. His love for everyone is unimaginable. GOD BLESS YOU!

this song really means a lot to me right now. im going through one of the hardest times of my life and im learning how to cope with situations and this song is giving me the peace i need knowing that i don't have to do everything myself. God is the only way i will be able to get through any of it. i've messed up a lot, but this song encourages me to get back on track with the Lord and he will guide me through it all. thanks
