Seriously, if you had never seen this before, and someone told you that Meatloaf tossed Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff a bass drum to bash into Roddy Piper's head, would you believe it? Doubtful, and I wouldn't either.
4:26 - I can't believe Paul Orndorff hit Bobby Heenan on the head with a drum here, now that I realize how serious Heenan's history of neck injuries was.
I never knew the Missing Link was in the WWF back then! Or maybe it just slipped my mind... Either way, he wasn't pushed well enough if my memory is failing me...
The heels were so much cooler than the babyfaces, no wonder they did most of the singing. And what about Bret dancing in the background? fucking hilarious
@Looking1231 Ah, gotcha. It's pretty clear that Mr. Marvin Lee Aday doesn't care what people have to say about him, being that he did this and also "Spice World." And God bless him for that!
@MaskedMan66 You are correct. That is why I am a Meat fan! The record that he had out (Or about to released called Blind Before I Stop) is stil a personal favorite of mine. God bless the Meat Man!!!
@Looking1231 Yes it is, and yes he probably did. Until his very successful comeback in the early 90's, Meat Loaf was considered a joke by many people. And because his comeback was such a big success, most people forget that Meat Loaf had been more or less relegated to the scrap heap of music history in the 80's. But, like Neil Young, the Bee Gees, and others who were considered done in the 80's, he returned in a big way.
@superbuick That is right. In his book, To Hell And Back, in his lean years he had a great line when he was almost going to play at a former 7-11. He said, in effect, OK, I draw the line at playing 7-11's!!
I forgot about this....LMAO! This was back when wrestling was fun and entertaining. I grew up with the WWF, WCCW, and NWA! I love my childhood! Kinda feel sorry for the current young generation with the WWE!
@ralphs400 Yes, that is Meatloaf on drums. His singing career wasn't doing very well at the time of this video. Cyndi Lauper "plays" guitar in this video in a wig. Lauper also participated on the album as a backing vocalist on "Real American" and as producer of "Captain" Lou Albano's track under the pseudonym "Mona Flambé".
Wow! What a great compillation! I recall this cideo being played on: Samantha Taylor's Video Hits, Good Rockin' Tonight, Much Music -- Video Flow and even on Hulk Hogan's Rock & Wrestling. It was shown everywhere!
@ween0 Yeah, that was The Missing Link. He was only with the WWF for a few months, between the first and second wrestlemania. He's since died, but I don't know from what.
I would be interested in seeing a remake using today's superstars and divas. To replace Piper having the last word they could have Cena give everyone a Attitude Adjustment at the end to make CeNation happy.
@FrontSeven893Storm So would I. Even if it's not a true remake but a modern version of the same idea. New Generation = new songs to cover. Like Cena covering Ice Ice Baby .
Thats weird that the 2 people who later went on to become WWF champion in this video dont have a singing line: Macho Man Randy Savage and Bret the Hitman Hart.
I got into wrestling about a week after Hogan beat the Sheik. This was a great album. A lot of great memories. Me and my buddy were, and to a degree I still am, the Marky Marks of Marktown. I know a little about storyline, kayfabe, and such. Nowdays I still have a lot of fun watching WWE and cheer who I want to cheer and boo who I want to boo. It's all about having fun and not taking it as seriously as too many do.
lot more cheerful than the wrestlers these days it seems. only guys that r this cheerful in my generation these days is cena and santino. and hornswaggle.
This beats the super bowl shuffle i say, these great legends made us scream and shout from all around country all the way . with great wreslters like Hogan, Andrea the Giant, Macho Man, Jake the Snake, Ultimate Warrior, Bret the Hitman Hart, Rick Rude, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, British Bulldog, Bundy, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jessie the Body, Ric Flair, Iron Sheik, it's impossible to include everyone I'm sad to say, thank you Vince Mcmahon for keeping it strong all over the world and the USA!
" I'm gonna slice ya like a French fried potato"/"I'm gonna crush ya and I'll see you later"-nice way 2 give a shoutout 2 the east-west connection(Adonis n Ventura)
I agree with TPratch! Hardly any of them r in shape lol! but they were all very entertaining...I loved watching them. They had heart and soul for wrestling. The only reason i watch it today is John Cena and now they have did something stupid with him to.
@acehighpat That's the one! And I just realized I misspelled Jubilee the first time, pardon. But she's got all her colors and the shades; the hair's bit different, but not a style Jubie wouldn't wear.
