  • quite excellent!

  • Tabs? No, but seriously, if you could post a guitar transcription for this I think you'd be the biggest hero in the Jazz guitar community. I think the hardest thing with transcribing sax solos, or any non-guitar solo, is trying to find the sequences and fingerings that work for these types of lines...I wish I could totally grasp the sort of approaches you're taking here, but it's lightning fast and hard to pick up on.

  • muito bom!!!

  • niceeee man. awesome.

  • Excelente mano! Um dos únicos que vi tocar no tempo normal da música.

Você tirou de ouvido ou tem a tablatura? Gostaria de tirar uns licks interessantes do Coltrane.

  • wow man, great! finally sbdy who plays a prs clean. got a hollowbody2, too and i just love the tone. damn hard work to master this solo.

  • Just Great man!I just strarted work on this solo too.. this is realy damn hard!

  • Nice PRS. This must be giving a great insight to your soloing patterns on guitar...! I love Coltrane's improvs.

  • That is crazy amazing! I've always wondered what that solo would sound like (and look like) on the guitar. As a guitarist, it gave me additional appreciation of Coltrane's improvisitory genious. Thank you for that and for nailing it with an outstanding performance. Please post more!

  • Bravo!!

  • awesome!

  • Great job, glad to see there are many whom give respects to the great John Coltrane

  • goood job!!! very clean!!

  • hey man i really enjoy this video. what scale are you using for this? i am a newbie for jazz guitar style

  • @bhumimanusha actaully he isnt using one specific scale. he is soloing over each specific chord change using a mixture of arpeggios, some scales that go along with each chord, and chromatics. thats how you get the jazzy sound to ur playing. if you want this sound in your playing id recommend first learning how to construct chords and then get a real book and start learnig jazz melodies and practice with the progression in that book. hope im helpfull!

  • @Estranged1337 thank you very much for assisting me. i am about to browse for jazz guitar books on ebay!

  • @Estranged1337

Although this song is probably not a good one to start with lol.

  • @Carthsgtr yeah. you would definetly have your work cut out for you :)

  • Very nicely done. That's some impressive work. You've got the notes under your fingers and you really stay with thee groove. Very impressive.

  • excellent !

  • Great work! Now i want to hear your own solo!

  • second post, ive learned more of the solo! this video inspires me and other guitarists for sure!

  • yeh nice

  • I'd like to hear the solo without the music

  • nice man i got it up to seconds 40, how are u learning it? slow it down learn part by part? or do u read music?

  • Christ...

  • Goddamn!

  • At my performing arts school were doing giant steps and this chick Is going to play this starting today me too i''ll have a video of me doing it probably months from now but major props to you man this is definitely a tough one I definitely need to get me a "jazz" guitar for this one but thanks 4 the vid

  • You sir, are mad.

    Fantastic playing.

  • Ouch! Watching that made me feel worthless and small. I need a scotch to make me feel better....... Please keep your guitar far away from Grand Rapids!

  • Really great playing!

  • it's cool but now I've got to kill you

HOW ON EARTH DID YOU LEARN THAT?!?!?!?!

ps. did you do it by ear?

  • i don't normally applaud note for note covers but i happen to know that coltrane's lines are demonic on a guitar neck. well done bro. now you can eat other guitarists whole and spit out the strings xD

  • This is absolutely jaw dropping how good this is … and only 3,000 + views??? what a friggin joke this world has become! then you type "guitar improvisation" on YouTube … and some talentless clown making faces and playing utter garbage is close to 16 Million views??? what a joke!!!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!

  • Sick!! This solo is so incredibly hard to play at tempo, I'm working on it myself and it's really tough.

  • omg!

  • Está incrível, parabéns!

sacaste de ouvido ou tens tablatura disto?

    o fraseado está mm nice

  • Excellent!

  • Very impressive. What really gets me is people like this and their ability to memorize note for note compositions. I can memorize and play some solos by my guitar idols, but it takes me forever and I forget it quickly. Good job!

  • killing.

  • killing.

  • Beautiful work my brother!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!

  • Absolutely astounding! Parabens! Hey, and thank you for posting this!!!!!

  • Man, you did a very good job! Well done!

The lines are really legato! (More sax-like)

    Ramon

  • smokin!

  • Hey man, congratulations for your transcription. You've chosen the fingerings for this solo very wisely. Nice sweep picking skill too.

  • :D Haja saúde para fazer dessas coisas!!! Abç

    Thanks

  • Very skillful playing. My hat goes off to you, good sir. If possible, I'd be interested in seeing a performance of Trane's version of My Favourite Things or his solos on Kind of Blue
