The damn rifle is NOT an assault rifle. It is not SELECT FIRE. And for practical purposes while it was and is a military small arm for the purposes of it being here it is a sporting rifle. The SKS is great but the air force is already doing trial runs with phaser rifles to replace the M16, and light infantry troop rifles. First production civilian models are supposed to be coming out in early 2012-2014. Hence - bullets will be obsolete soon!

@LamboK28992 depends what state youre in. Also the shape of the rifles. If you are in cali the two mosens could be worth $99-300. The sks could be worth $400-700, the .22's are usually cheap depending on what they are. The 12 guage is something else though. You gotta know what kind it is. For a nice 870 you may pay up to $1500, for a benelli maybe $2k but for an inexpens, say a mossberg it may only be $300.

However, in civilian terms, the word assault is badged to any gun that was either designed to kill other humans or is very much based off of them. One cannot group any guns in this category simply on appearance.

SKS and AK are two totally different weapons with different designs and designers. (Simonov and Kalashnikov) The only similarities are: Russian, 7.62x39, and gas piston. The SKS was not designed for civilians. The MAK 90 was a semi-auto version of the AK47 that was sold to civilians. SKS's were sold as is since they were semi-auto to begin with.
