Well we've tried it several times for a project, but it failed all the times. That project is finished now (at our school they think that a failed experiment is okay, as long as you can say reasonable things about it), but i just can't stand it when a experiment keeps going wrong, so i'm trying myself now
What fish did you use? Was it filet or was the skin still on? And what medium did you use?

we used mahi mahi. yes, the scales were left on so we could scrape the bacteria off of them.
of course though, since this was a movie, we did everything before hand.

Okay, thank you, where did you get this mahi mahi from? and what did you keep them in?
(I'm trying to grow them myself, but until now i've failed to do so, so I'm gathering some info)

we bought it from the supermarket. so all we had to do was scrape the scales for bacteria to put it on the plate.

we used seawater agar plates and streaked them and then incubated them at 37C over night
