Just because an animal doesn't look or act like humans does not justify using them for our personal gain. Animal testing is wrong for humans as well. Our systems are different then that of animals, for example tamoxifen a drug used in breast cancer for women causes tumors in rats but not in mice or hamsters, it is harmless the fetus' of rabbits and monkeys but causes bone abnormalities in the fetus' of rats. The results cannot be accurately applied to humans.

Populations are much, much more important to biodiversity than the individuals within them. Much of the testing we have done has prevented extinction of numerous species. Unfortunately a lot of people never stop and think about wearing leather as a cruel act. The leather industry is not a direct by product of the food industry- any leather, especially made from areas outside the U.S. (which is not necessarily regulated here) is possibly the result of cruel and unusual practices.
If you really want to change the way humans treat animals, maybe stop wearing leather- I know that sounds like an extreme thing to do, but every time you are about to buy something made out of leather, which includes belts, jackets and shoes, ask yourself- "Is this worth the pain and suffering of an animal? Is this worth their life?" Trust me, it's not that hard, and as people who do not NEED to use leather (there are alternatives) it's hard to say that it's worth killing an animal for fashion

Just because an animal doesn't look or act like humans does not justify using them for our personal gain. Animal testing is wrong for humans as well. Our systems are different then that of animals, for example tamoxifen a drug used in breast cancer for women causes tumors in rats but not in mice or hamsters, it is harmless the fetus' of rabbits and monkeys but causes bone abnormalities in the fetus' of rats. The results cannot be accurately applied to humans.

I agree with animal testing that involves medicines and researching vaccines. It benefits humans as well as animals to prevent further viruses, in BOTH animals and humans.
However, I DO NOT agree that animals should be tested for cosmetics. Beauty products are not a 'NEED' for survival; medicines and research are!
Any animal that has to be tested on for the sheer fact of beauty is ugly in itself.
They actually do human trials too; maybe they should reduce the prison capacities with that one.

I agree with everything pets says n all and all of that is cruel. But I also heard PETA kills 75 percent of the animals they take in. And they call it "putting them to rest forever" I'm a little iffy on PETA. They save animals and whatnot, but they also put them to sleep... I don't know what to believe. No rude comments please. We should all handle this like adults

See I partly agree with that but shouldn't PETA be a no kill shelter? Also how about spending some money on animals instead of millions being wasted on adds no one really reads or cares for lobbyists that will never get what they want (swat flies much) no matter who is in office. or funding left wing extremist groups. With the money wasted you could have bought enough land to make no kill sanctuary in a few states And keep them funded. Well if you really cared about animals.

There's a reason we test on animals, folks. We don't do it to get sick kicks. We do it to ultimately help the animal populations and/or the human population in the long run. Populations are much, much more important to biodiversity than the individuals within them. Much of the testing we have done has prevented extinction of numerous species. We take the blood from young alligators to test for West Nile Virus, which if spread would be devasating to an entire community. Read up on ecology.

Unfortunately a lot of people never stop and think about wearing leather as a cruel act. The leather industry is not a direct by product of the food industry- any leather, especially made from areas outside the U.S. (which is not necessarily regulated here) is possibly the result of cruel and unusual practices.

If you really want to change the way humans treat animals, maybe stop wearing leather- I know that sounds like an extreme thing to do, but every time you are about to buy something made out of leather, which includes belts, jackets and shoes, ask yourself- "Is this worth the pain and suffering of an animal? Is this worth their life?" Trust me, it's not that hard, and as people who do not NEED to use leather (there are alternatives) it's hard to say that it's worth killing an animal for fashion

Animals did nothing bad towards us or anyone else and yet we do harm to them for the sole purposes that WE CAN and CAN GET AWAY WITH IT and ITS OK TO DO SO. Weather it be for food, clothing, entertainment or experiment.
