  • the train is one of the absolute best parts of living in the suburbs. i love lieing in bed at night and hearing the train say one more word before i fall asleep.

  • love the sound of it makes me think of them films and how they do it in banged up citys

  • I need all the info I can get since csx poorly marks this line

  • oh. good to know. I'm designing this route on Trainz 2009

  • Great video 5

  • hmmm. I wonder why he was going that fast. Trains who use that track are usually coming out of locust point yard around the turn. They seem to be going around 7-10 mph when I"m railfanning there. How old is this video. I noticed that the CPL's are different

  • Summer of 2000....Not sure on speeds and such...!

  • well the speed limit I believe for the line in the tunnel is 25 mph. It turns to 30 mph at st. Denis

  • Sorry didn't realize I was signed into my other account...30 sounds close or right...After hanging out down there for 15 years + I should know by now but I forget...haha Myotherutube

  • Where is this?? Akron, OH??

  • NA....It's actually in Baltimore City, MD

  • i dont think so...railroads have moved away from high horsepower locos and realized that engines around 4400 hp hav much more versatility out on the road...

  • 5*****!

  • great clip

  • Cool the video!

    *Add favorite and 5 rating!

  • no leslie rs3ls rs3ks and rs5ts are the best

  • great shot! its a shame that they are starting to derate those 6000's though, but again great job! 5 stars!

  • Why were they downgraded from 6000hp?

  • THe pc software had bugs in them(meaning software bugs not actuall bugs) that caused the traction motors to burn up and cause problems,so a new AC6000hp prime mover had to be ordered and it took almost four years to rebuild! so most were derated to 4400hp of their ac44400cw counterparts, till the new GE prime movers came in 2004.when pres.Busch said we need to clean our acts up some more,TIER 2 stepped in and ordered a cleaner burning diesel,so instaed of just plain AC,they became ES

  • Continued from last part: plus to help matters out and to keep people near tracks happy, the FRA made a new horn rule, saying no horn can be blown over 107dps,so inresponse, nathan stopped making the K5LAR24,and made rather discords like they did for Canada some time ago.So any locomotives made after late 2004,must meet this requirement,so CSX is equipping their ES60ACS(their rebuild program model)with standard K5HLLs.Now some early CSX ES44DCs have K5LAR24s.

  • Interesting facts, thanks for filling me in on all of it.

  • Incredible horn!

    Sweeet Echo!

    Gr8 Vid!

    5 Stars!

  • Yeah those CW60ACs have great K5LAs. I'm seeing a lot of them lately. I don't really care for K5HL horns.

  • Great the vid! And they are in Baltimore, Maryland?

  • Yea the location is just south of the city in the "rough" area. Apparently they ran the 6000's real hard up and down the east coast because they had cab signals...that has all changed I assume by now :(

  • When i went down there once i usually saw NS

  • Bush St in Baltimore MD? I actually have yet to see an NS loco....Try it again then...lol

    Signed Myotherutube...

  • Not at Bush str. Somewhere else

  • You'll find a bunch of NS equipment at what used to be called the Bayview Car Shop (not sure what it's called now) on Rolling Mill Rd in the Eastpoint area. I ride the MARC train from Martin Airport and I see them every trip. That's also generally where the Dave Johnson Catenary Maintenance Vehicle is parked. An unusual looking piece of equipment.
