the snare is a brass or bronze 14"x4".

the solo he plays in the beginning is a variation of the classic max roach "the drums also walts" ?uestlove is one of the most innovative drummers to come out in the past 30 years or so.

@goldensleeves His set is miked up like craazy, then they throw in reverb & mad low-end to the kick (makes it sound like thunder (no but for reals)). If you've ever been to a roots concert you'll leave with ur chest still thumping and ur ears ringing!! Oh and Kirk Douglas = severely underrated.

@goldensleeves The drums are Maple Custom Absolutes; the snare is a Yamaha Brass 14x3.5, like the David Garibaldi signature without blue finish.

@goldensleeves it's a Yamaha SD493 Piccolo Brass Snare and it's tuned pretty high to create that punchy and smooth sound!
