Nice presentation. I'm using Sony Vegas Pro for everything... including Audio mixing and Mastering. I even wrote my own plugin for it to create YouTube subtitles automatically. I guess there are more than a few ways to skin a cat. Ohh yeah.. I also use Camtasia for making online training videos.. very slick!
Actually, that's a good question. I think PC is understood as a non-Mac in the same way as it is in the US, at least by the Akiba crowd. Certainly, パソコン means any computer, but if you go to 価格コム, they distinguish Macs and パソコン as shopping categories.
Hmmm, you make a really good point. I guess people will pick up by context ("PC or Mac") what is meant. I hope!
Yes, I find myself always editing in the Adobe suite. I've grown use to it but at times, I understand the simplicity of programs like iMovie and what not; how things are premade and adjusting, etc.
In Premiere and After Effects, all must be down by hand so tutorials become your best friend.
I know we have the similar action in Premiere for making the video stretch, by click the edge of the video while holding shift, it allows you to stretch it while being restrained.
I've been considering the move to Adobe. The nice thing is that it is the professional standard, and I understand that you really can do anything with it, but it is hard to learn. VS was easy to pick up, and certainly now, I'm so used to it that any switch will be hard.
That's why I may make the change from Premier to iMovie09 just because of the simplicity and so that I can push out videos faster and use Premier for the serious or cinematic footage that will be somewhat effects heavy.
I agree - I don't know if it has anything to do with a general hostility toward WMV as a microsoft proprietary format, but it seems to work really well.
I have heard good things about Sony Vegas. One good point about this though is that even if your computer can't handle raw HD files, the software caches it so you can edit ligher cached files, clip by clip anyway. I like this just because it is easy to use right away, although there are plenty of functions I wish it had. Still, it does most everything I want it to.
I really like that you include the Japanese AND English captions at the bottom. I like to use your videos as Japanese listening practice, and they're very convenient for that.
Oh! I should do a vid to make sure eveyron knows this... Under the vid, is the timeline, time, volume, then quality button, then fullscreen button and beside that is the little triangle in a box button on the far right bottom. Click that and two icons come up, one that looks like a post-it, the other says "CC". These switch on and off annotations and captions respectively. Make sure you always have CC activated on my vids - I go to some trouble to caption all my vids. Check it out!
Haha, dude, you just talk about your life and you have mad content. You're too humble! For me, it's all about figuring tricks out so editing doesn't take so long. But it is kinda fun...
Glad you like it. I actually only discovered it by accident on this vid, but I think I will go back now and make all my older vids with subs in both languages this way as well. I can't vouch for how good the Japanese is, but at least people can figure out what phrases I am using.
Yeah, there's pros and cons. Having the bars there increases the resolution of the video that is left a bit, and if you zoom in to get rid of them, you have to remember to zoom out when you shoot to account for that. But certainly, I still have 4:3 webcams that I do this for when I edit, and they turn out fine.
Wow, I've uploaded 2 caption files on all my vids but never figured out how to combine them. I might go back now and update the captions on my other vids making the captions bilingual as well. Sweet!
Cheers mate! There was a wee bug with the English subtitles, but I think I have it fixed now. I wrote down all the Japanese in captions too if you want to check that out.
I had one subtitle showing the whole length of the vid. Check out what I just figured out while fixing it. Fully Bilingual simultaneous subtitles. Enjoy!

Before I began uploading HD to youtube I always found best results uploading WMV files. It is weird that youtube doesn't recommend that format.

I tried that Program as well, but I prefer Sony Vegas. Especially if you have an AVCHD Camera it works much smoother.

that is really great. Vegas, especially the rendering of avchd files, can take a lot of time if you don't have a speedy computer :/
