  • My dad took me to the Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi in 1986 when i was 8 years old to see this car. I still remember it. Kankunnen was driving it that year. They had it parked next to a stock 205 from Marshalls Kenya Limited, the local Peugeot dealer at the time.. Jean Todt was there too... before he became famous with Ferrari. lol...

  • Haï gais ! I'm a Peugeot! Vroom :3

  • I think it was about 20 seconds per KP faster than the Audi's. Ari Vatanen did that.

The Audi Quattro felt like a 205 with a dead cow tied on the radiator. So they said in Amerika. See U at Le Mans.

  • buaaaa vallaaa cocheeee

  • 0:57 omg this part of video the sound makes me go wild

  • nice, check out mine

  • who ever saw this car and the rest of group must of been so lucky to have seen it

  • El Peugeot 205 junto con el Renault 5 maxi turbo fueron protagonistas del rally mundial de la clase B si señor .

  • best car ever... :) i own a GTI griffe for a couple of years. But this thing i read somewhere 2.3 to 100 km/h for the EVO II. warpspeedddd!!

  • engine sound is impressive, the car is awesome

  • Peugeot would have won in pikes peak in 1987 but had turbo boost problems

  • Just two words: BE PEUGEOT!!!

  • poeple ain't smart. get out the way fools. great peug tough!

  • but audi haved stronger engine and peugeot 205 t16 didnt won the pikes peak event

  • thanks one more thing did the peugeot haved faster acceleration and better grip than audi s1 ? how would be cars handling and acceleration if it would be tunned to 650 bhp ??? WOULD 205 T16 TAKE ON LANCIA DELTA S4 AND FORD RS 200

  • 2.27 everyone's ok?

  • Excellent, Excellent Video!

  • quand on aime les rallyes, on aime ça. je suis né 10 ans trop tard...

  • Best Peugeot ever Build

  • one question guys was this car faster than audi quattro S1 E2 ? and did this body kit haved same downforce ? please i need answers

  • @kalasnikov121 the quattro S1 E2 was faster in a staight line - due to the extra power, but the 205 T16 with its mid engine design, smaller size & space age frame meant it was far more agile through the stages.

I do know the bodykit on a quattro S1 E2 was designed to keep it on the floor - hope this helps.

  • @kalasnikov121 Now that is a tricky question the answer. The Peugeot was the better car technology wise, since it was purpose built rally car with mid engine opposed the audi which was based on a producion car. The most power the Audi put out in rally trim was 550bhp while the Peugeot was good for 540bhp at 3.0 bar boost.

The peugeot was also alot light than the audi and easyer to drive. The wings on the peugeot were there to make the car fly level over jumps as the orignal T16 had the tendancy

  • continued..................to kick its read end up on the air over jumps. While the body kit on the audi was there to combat the sever understeer and to try and get all the power onto the road which the sport quattro failed to do due it its lack of producing much downforce.

So its hard to say which is faster, in a straight line i reckon there would'nt be much between the two around a track though i think the Peugeot would take the Audi.

  • @Marvdogger My 3rd car was a 86 Audi Coupe quattro (136 bhp) and the understeer could scare anyone sh*tless.I live in Norway,so 4x4 on a "normal" car was equal to leaving all my mates for dead on the tracks they make on rivers, ponds, etc. in winter. But once i mastered leftfoot braking it became absolutely awesome.I should never have sold that car:(

  • @Marvdogger hmmmm wrong man audi beated peugeots when it comed to its evolution version the S1 walter beated peugeots, lancias, fords evryone AUDI is better but peugeot is lighter thats why it slides to much and by the way most audis s1 haved 550 bhp but some special version with power shift gearbox, dsg tehnology...haved 650 bhp it was a prototype driven by walter rohl ( in that rally wich beated peugeots and evryone )

  • @Marvdogger yea but audi haved actualy over 600 hp peugeot haved 500 but anyway what about audi s1 replica by prospeed bulgaria ? 880 hp with 870 kg ? with modern tehnology !!! here :/watch?v=sJkxsLY9H38 and ofcourse this one :D :/watch?v=GuGze5L6n_I&feature=related 0-60 mph ( 0-100 kmh) is 1.8 seconds 200 kmh gets in 6-7 seconds

  • @kalasnikov121 That car is a lot of shit. No matter how much power it has, it's not factory built. Even this little T16 would waste it as it done with every car since it was built. I don't mean this in a bad way, but it's not prepared how these cars would be. Jean Todt even said the T16 was capable of more than 800 if required and I think that was already proved when it was used in rally cross. The Audi is a nice car, but this thing was built to destroy everything

  • @Marvdogger the peugeot was also based on a production car, but only 200 were made

  • Group b kicked balls

  • this car is awesome, i have the 205 1.9 GTI my goal is to reach this level of performance and elegance this car is eradiate in the vid. it will toke alot of time on money but it will be worth

  • French Engineering at its best, nothing the Germans or Italians threw at it could come anywhere near it :-)

  • me encanta este coxe,es un pepino uniko,ke hoy en dia no se fabrica

  • Whata noise from the dump valves.

  • 1.42 gear shift! awesome!

  • esye si que manejaba la tenia re clara

  • W .... I .... N

    no questions

    no quibblies

the answer to ever driving dream.

  • Man. And I thought the 205 GTi was cool. This is insane. We're talking a little center-motor 500 hp 4WD 2-seater rallycar in hatchback disguice. I absolutely love it. I gotta have one of those puplic turbo 16's

  • @jxvwp Good luck finding 1 Peugeot only made 500 of them :D

  • 500?!?

I only thought they made about 200 of them.

Well that just increased the odds

  • thoste road legal turbo 16's are expensive. on autoscout24 the cheapest starts at €60.000 but they are verry cool

  • @thomgrou

    very very cool!!!

  • @jxvwp

seriously if there was a god every serious driver would own one!!!

  • I'm a french fan of rallye especially of Peugeot.

Frcnh rally cars are the best ever !!!

    Others sucks

    PUG POWAAAAAAA

THX for this wonderful vid, 5stars

  • Now THIS is rally cars! I remember these from when I was about 11.. Crazy fast cars!

    :-D

  • killer sound

  • Can u imagine that this was back in 1983-1987 and it is speculated to have had 600-650HP to the wheels. that is balls to the wall fast in modern times so back then they must have thought the car would jump into light speed!

  • such a silly looking little car... but

    Vatanen is the greatest!

POETRY IN MOTION!! (and yes, I did write that on another Vatanen vid that I watched)

  • dommage que le groupe B n'existe plus!!!

  • denna filmen är bra!

  • p'ti bolide!

  • questi erano bei tempi!!!!

  • absolute savage :]

  • the noise is jus awsum!!! mmmm luvin it :D t16 all the way!!

  • fantastic car! but I prefer delta s4...c'è piu gusto a essere italiani

  • @mikilyyyyy baah

  • The 205 is the very best

  • best car the french have ever built

  • @WELSHYM249 Add to that 405 T16 :))

  • @WELSHYM249 ...The best car thats ever been built!

  • @WELSHYM249 what about the peugeot 905 that won lemans? thats a damn pretty car with world beating performance.

  • @WELSHYM249 No, the Renault 5 turbo MAXI is on par with the 205 rally version.

  • where can i find one of those?:P

  • the only car peugeot made that is good and people rcognise its beauty, speed and power fucking sirious car

  • You're going a bit far with beauty but I agree on all other fronts.

  • frensh power!!! awesome car 205 its the best peugeot car ever

  • 1:10 limitatore?

  • Yep

  • yes

  • Maybe Audi wins in that section, but this thing wins in speed.

  • defo the quattro is my fave sounding car .

  • great video peugeot 205 t16P:power

  • (L)

  • I'm going to get into rally, I love F1 but rally, it's such a different sport, looks incredible!

Sounds gash but I always use the 205 in GT4, and it destroys almost anything it comes up against!

  • funny the guy that built this little monster kept ferrari's grip on the f1 scene too.

  • i think the time is right for the ban of group B to be lifted... I miss those 600+hp cars of the eighties.

Still, we have to be gratefull that the sport wasn't banned completely. Only because the manufactors insisted to cut the performance of the cars to a safer level was the sport saved...

I still think that it's the spectators own responsabillity to take care of themself!

  • yea it looks like peugot and lancia where ahead of there time cuz look at todays wrc cars theyre all smalller then in the 90ties

  • The same power and handling all the way , on gravel , on mud , on snow and ice , on asphalt .. pure power , awesome car .

And most of all , a legendary driver .

  • my fave car in da wold

  • the best car ever in group b!!!!!!

  • fantastic car!

  • love the t16 but you still cant beat audi quattro s1 sport.

  • The T16 had better handling and made better use of the 4WD system compared to the Quattro Sport. It had a mid-mounted engine and thus was not as front end heavy as the Audi resulting in better tyre economy. But the T16 (or any other Group B car) will never reach the iconic status of the Audi Quattro Sport.

  • @TheGoldenSphinx

The 205T16 is well above the Audi Quattro. It beated, sorry, it dominated it in every field, and this is the ultimate Rally car. There only 1 point where the Quattro beats the 205: the sound. The 205 iconic status is well above the Quattro or any other groupB sorry. It won a lot more titles in many different kind of races: Group B, Pikes peak, trophée Andros (race on ice), Rallye Cross, Paris-Dakar.

  • @TheGoldenSphinx

No I now they had the record of pikes peaks hillclimb before Peugeot came. I know enough about Audi to, and owned some Audi as well.

  • @Soussmeboules Opinions about the ultimate rally car will always vary & it's always said that " without the quattro the 205 T16, Lancia S4 & integrale etc would not have been around at the time"

The quattro was based on a real road car too, where the 205 T16 only had the front headlamps in common with a 205 road car.

I agree, in terms of rallying, the T16 had no equals at the time - but as an icon the quattro is The Daddy

i owned a 205 GTi 1.9 & followed it with an UR quattro & loved both.

  • great video!! sehr geil.

  • buen sonido, buen coche y buen video... saludos..
