MAN I got really curious with this vault thing and I see now there are so many vault stories like I figuered out some vaults from fallout new vegas:

Vault 34 -> giant armory (it's locked by the overseer)

Vault 11 -> they actually needed to sacrifice themselves or the whole vault population would die... all though when only 5 survivors remained they refused to sacrifice and the guy (idk who he is) said they were free for some reason...

Vault 22 -> some agriculture vault that got uncontrolled

Vault 101 -> it was an experiment to know the reaction of the residents if they would be in the vault FOREVER... and also to test the overseer that had the role to make sure no one would knew about the experiment stuff...

there was a total of 122 vaults (only 17 of these were a sucess in the experiment)... many vault experiments were failures due to flaws (such as vaul 13 and the water chip)

Vault 13 -> keep the residents isolated far more time then the required... even though it got opened due to the failure of the water chip...

Vault 27 -> twice the population of most vaults to study the effects of overcrowding.

Vault 106 -> had psychoactive drugs released into the air ten days after being sealed...

Vault 77 -> a single resident was locked with a crate of puppets (my personal most sad one) read my other comment...

I really enjoyed this, the psychology behind split personalities fascinates me, this is no different. I also appreciate seeing the state of the immediate post-war world, it can't have been more than two years after the great war.

In all, I found this creepy, funny and downright disturbing. Many of the vaults were as bad as this one, Vault 68 had 999 men and one woman (rape!) and a vault where there was no basically food to eat because the dispensers were intentionally flawed. Cannibalism...

Almost all the vaults were created as social experiments, so most of them weren't even meant to live after the war.

They did what EA did with red alert 3. They took the superficial aspects of it, and turned them up to 20, without actually retaining the charm. They did a terrible job of retaining the feel. There was a very delicate balance of art, sci-fi, 50s, pop-culture, gameplay, amazing and ham. Fallout 3 don't got it. It's just got the icing, but there's no cake under it. Same issue Elder Scrolls has.

@villest1 I've heard a couple of suggestions, one to see whether humans can live forever inside the vault, another to see if humans will stay inside contamination indefinately merely to avoid infection and another (the generally accepted) was that it merely was to test how a person (overseer) would react or manage with limitless power and no external threats to their control. There's evidence for all three but the final has the most (especially his personality cult in 101.)

what happened is obvios (except for the last part)

the survivor was trapped in the vault for years with no one to interact withand cabbin fever started taking its effect several years later he found some puppets as his mental status is damege by the years of cabin fever he gets a type of split personality and a personality taht is a type of his "inner demon"is expressed to him by the puppet (seing as how puppets were the only things he could interact with)

If your saying that you think the player character is Puppet man, then NO. When it starts out you'll be being UN-buried by a robot (in the trailer) from there it'll be similar to the birth scene in FO3. Most likely we won't hear anything about Puppet man in new Vegas. Or if we do it won't be significant.

No his unofficial name is "A7" and he's affiliated with the New California Republic. (Look at the flag behind him in the video trailer) This character can vary well be a mercenary,or bounty hunter hired by the New California Republic.

Like I said, if puppet mans in here at all, it'll most likely be as minuscule as it was in Fallout3.
