this guy obviously saw this on a video somewhere and decided to show the technique in hopes of getting some "Youtube Cred". Unlikely. I imagine since this video is 2 years old, he's probably figured out this is a bunch of crap and is not using it anymore.
exactly...the only thing i hate about the bjj movement...to many weekend warriors and wannabes who only do it for the "style" and think its makes them look cool
this is stupid. first of all, if bruce lee was fighting that guy they would never be laying on the ground like that cause he'd kick him in the solarplexus so hard his brain would explode. even if he did land on the ground and he had to get him he just use a one inch punch which is instant death.
wtf is a jiu jitsu move? bruce ree do wing chun, he very fast. he live at shaolin temple for 400 years before doing wing chun on chuck norris. he also invent omoplata.
sloppy mma shit? mma is real fighting. jiu jitsu is jiu jitsu. i bet relson gracie doesn't want to have a real fight with a former pro wrestler named kazushi sakuraba.
I use this pass quite often, only i don't place my hand on the mat to start the cartwheel, but instead put my left forearm into my opponent's stomach(the elbow drops into their belly button, keeping them in their position and unable to swing around and catch you. Any cartwheel pass can get you caught in an armbar or triangle if you're sloppy. You just have to be aware of your opponents legs as you fly over their body and immediately drop your weight onto their chest upon landing.
Move works well i normly do it staning though... and i've passed from blue to purple belts guard with it and never been caught in triangle nor arm bar... my suggestion is experament in practice before trying in fight
i agree with aera0six, it's too risky. i can see the triangle even with the leg and hip control because you have to release before spinning. leaves to much space. theres even a half guard trap that will lead to an armbar for the bottom guy, let alone allowing him to pass to the back.
nice pass

@HiggsxBosonxTheMetal he did it a bit differently, but it's been used successfully against a GJJ blackbelt in Alan Goes by Sakuraba

#1 its an open guard so you cant be "stuck on him"
#2 to stop the triangle, youre controlling the knee and shooting past it. (in this case the opponents left knee)
#3 to stop an armbar, just control the opponents right knee
I use this all the time and people find it annoying, but it works if you get em off guard... just ask Sakuraba!!!
