WRC cars have used them for years, it fires the ignition 180 degrees off, any unburnt fuel is burnt and the resulting explosion helps keep the turbo spooling at its sweet spot, used between gearchanges as well to so you dont over-rev. They have a point, that and most normal rev limiters cut fuel, not ignition like this, the last thing you want in a high boost engine is fuel cutting, no fuel = lean = dead engine.
And for those who don't already know, the "ricer" term only applies to lowered Civics and Integras with large mufflers that don't have an engine to back up the sound.
This car is obviously not a "ricer" car since it's runnin' an RB30DET. As long as a Japanese car has a strong enough engine to run against European and American cars, you can't really call it a "ricer" car. Alright ? Cool.

@itszALDWiN well i have an ej8 rockin the single cam turbo y8 and have yet to be beat by a 240 ( well a 240 without the rb26dett swap in it). which most of them had the ka motor but ive raced 2 sentra's with an sr20. but now if your talking about the civics with the 1.4 or 1.3 now i would most definitely believe the 240 will win. not all civics are rice, but some are still too damn loud. but ive seen 2 or 3 240's that could wake my dead ancestors up. it just depends on the setup

As for Civics and Integras, I passed two the other night who thought their cars were fast. Guess their loud mufflers couldn't compete with a K-Series motor :D

IMO, ricers are cars built for show and not for performance. Any cosmetic "upgrades" (body kit, wing, smoked tail lights, blue HID's, those 4" annoying mufflers) are ricer. However, a Japanese car that is actually fast and has some substantial performance increases (sway bars, porting, a proper free flowing exhaust system, fuel/spark mapping), is not rice. 99% of the time, rice can refer to any non-oem part that is put on the car that does not improve power or handling.
stock rev limiters are usually fuel cuts so u will have a chance of knocking or detonating the motor since some times when drifting u cant help but be at WOT bouncing off the rev limiter.
the Bee-R limiter is an ignition cut limiter which allows fuel to stay on... so the popping sounds are from the unburnt fuel getting into the exhaust system lol.

@serriously i don't know all the technical shit and sorry if my english is a bit off (Holland). But i know that it was supposed to be a launch control, but i think it's the worst one around there. You can set the limiter on a rpm niveau you prefer, some does it low rpm like 2500. some high in the 4500/6500 region. It cuts the ingition on the right level (if you do it right). So you could launch without losing any seconds 'caused by spinning the tires.
