Nope. I wasn't expecting anyone to comment on my comment. And I'm guessing that if you feel like shit, it's because you realize how stupid your first response to my comment was in retrospect and that I have a point. I like you more.
There is an Orange drum set, and Orange guitar, and Orange box on the wall, an Orange stripe on his sweater, and Orange lettering on another item, Orange on a drum head box, where the heck are the Orange AMPS? oh Orange Sales stickers in another frame. Orange, Orange, Orange, Orange, Orange you glad I pointed this out?
I played one of these today and I *really* liked it. I have only one minor criticism: Having to use a drum key to clamp and unclamp it from the bass drum hoop. Not only is it annoying as hell to have to get all the way to the bottom of the pedal to do it, but you're screwed if you accidentally leave a drum key at home. PS- what's with all the weird negative comments under this video? Bunch of Pearl or Tama or Axis reps who *didn't* come up with this idea pissed off or something?
@drummer4life2014 In a post of about 100 words, I put asterisks around TWO words for emphasis. You have a problem with that? Who pissed in your Cheerios? If that's all it takes to get you to leave a whiny, juvenile, snarky response to a perfectly legit post, you must be leading a bitter, miserable life. Good luck with that. I'm glad I don't have your problems.
@TechnicalEvaluation Hahahahahahaha you obviously do. You are a middle-aged man aren't you? One that comments on videos and prays that a teenager comments so you can make him feel like shit. I like you.
These pedals are awesome. Saw the drummer for Kingdom of Ashe play one. Less parts to break and the action is much quicker than springs and strap pedals. The idea is very smart.
He sounds as high as he was when he came up with the idea... I like that drummers are at least experimenting, like this guy and Bill Bachman with the Speedy Hat. Options are nice.
so wait, im intruiged, i currently use a trick pro1v bigfoot double pedal, im just wondering, do you get resistance by the 2 magnets having the same poles facing eachother?
Never woulda thought something like this would make it's way into society. I'd like to give one of those beasts a shot. Where could I play one of these?
Agreed...very far from convincing. He needs to hire somebody with some energy to show how exciting this pedal is and how it can improve playing as well as different comfort factors.
Great idea. Pedals need to evolve. I love my DW 9000's, but I'm glad Axis and Trick came along, and now I'm happy to see it's being taken even further; springs are annoying and innacurate. Cheers.
How can he say its magnetically driven? Its driven by the linkage. He even says it himself!! He should says its a bass drum pedal returned by a magnet. He says its more reliable but a mag is subject to temperature exactly the same as a spring so if its in different environments its still probably going to need tweeking all the time. Looks good though but how much is it?
haha joshieboy...........but these pedal look so much better than spring i wish i could get em if they were less pricy....cuz i kno they'll be like 500 bucks haha
the chain attached to the footboard at one end and the beater shaft on the other is moving the beater forward. the thing that provides tension is the magnet, which will repel the beater backwards when you take pressure off the pedal. think of two oppositely charged magnets. the closer they're brought together, the more they want to repel. this is the same concept behind spring format, just a different form of pedal repulsion. hope that helps
Great work! Very cool idea. I have ofthen thought of like pole magnets as resistance. Good to see you actually did something with it! I liked your video. Check my idea out that I actually did something with, if you would please and let me know your thoughts on "The Drum Wallet". Check out my infomercial, demo video for what may just be the best snare drum muffling device ever created! Thanks and keep up the good work!
i think this is a really cool and innovative idea. i have no idea how well the pedal works, but it seems like it has all the advantages of a direct drive pedal without the trouble of spring tension. very interesting.
i'm thinking the magnet just help you to push your feet up away like you said, in other words, it replaces the spring! great idea, i'll have to try this out!
personally Malsiv ur waisting money if you buy axis. Sure they look cool ans stuff but really all those expensive pedals aside from pearl demon drive are just that, pedals that are expensive with no real improvements besides looks. Really if you want good pedal that performs like a "high end" pedal get a gibralter intruder series direct drive its way less and performs better and super easily adjustable
lol...this pedal looks like youv just knocked it up in your garage...to be honest there is so much talk about slightly better pedals...why not just learn to play a good pedal and shut the fuck up ;)
jeez in a few years we will but pedals with cams that do all the work for you! seems a bit silly, i like pedals that look good, as long as they play pritty good to, i dont think about feel and that i think just learn it
"punkrockdrummer1990", when you get into something more complex than a quarter note on the kick drum, you might actually start caring. maybe you should spend more time practicing and less on degrading technical improvements on youtube.
This is the best pedal i have ever played! Completely adjustable to feel better than any other pedal. The magnets will NEVER loose their power (unlike spring pedals). I love it and i need a double pedal
i sat down with an axis, trick, and demon drive single pedals in front of me. i gave each one about 10 minutes and i was able to get the axis and the trick to a good setting. No matter what i did to the demon drive, even if i stomped on it, it was nothing compared to the axis. the trick pedal just felt like shit to me but it did have a little power.
The Neodymium, Rare Earth magnets we use in our pedals are considered permanent because they experience an imperceptibly natural state of demagnetization of only 1 percentage every 10 years. Intense heat or stronger external magnetic fields of ATTRACTION can affect magnets, but a complete failure (wearing out) of magnets by magnetic REPULSION wont happen. Any natural, but very slight decrease in strength that occurs will result in stabilization and continued utility.
Ive consulted with many different manufacturers and suppliers to the same end conclusion of magnetic sustainability. The first pedal I built almost 4 years ago still plays with immediate responsiveness. Besides, if magnetic repulsion is used as levitation to support the 40 ton Maglev train, and as propulsion to accelerate roller coasters, I dont see any reason to debate the credibility of Drumnetics Pedals. Thanks for listening.
Magnetic fields dissipate with sustained, repeated interaction with other magnetic fields. If magnets were truly permanent, we wouldn't be paying for gasoline. Don't go and invoke some idiot conspiracy theory about it, either. Seriously, permanent magnets, especially those which experience interaction with other magnets, lose their magnetic force.
This pedal will work well for about 3-4 years. It will then weaken to the point of no playability.
those magnets are obviously ferromagnets. those will not become paramagnets unless exposed to a curie's temperature. to ''recharge them' running them throught the first phase of an isteresis cicle would be enough.
Give it a break, don't be so quick to discredit a great idea!! "A permanent magnet will retain its magnetism unless it is affected by a strong outside magnetic or electrical force, or elevated temperatures. If they are not exposed to any of these conditions, permanent magnets will lose magnetism on their own, however this degradation is very slow, on the order of one percentage point every ten years or so". Specs from an Industrial magnet supplier.
It's just too bad that the cost of the pedals won't be justified when you consider the life of the pedal. Every stroke will loosen the pedal by a very small amount, due to demagnetization. If magnets were truly, absolutely, permanent, perpetual motion would be possible. I like the idea, but throughout a year of constant playing, you'll have to replace the magnets; which are expensive enough in their own right.
im guessing they are using something that covers things like, heat, and low coercivity, which i could only see as the possible way the magnet could become demagnetized and even then there are ways to re magnetize... not saying they are safe or work, but ppl have tutorials to re-magnetize
its actually 659.99 plus 20.00 S/H...i have a pair...i love it....ill prob never buy a new pedal since i got thiese...they are soo fckng awsome...prob the best pedal ive used...better than my dw's
Michael is a friend of a mine and a teacher at the store where i work. If you have any sort of question about the pedal you are welcome to contact him through his website. He is always more than glad to hep.
Hey man, that's a very nice mechanical solution, but as many of us know, blood is moslty iron (that's why it is red), that's why when you got harm with a hit, you can accelerate the healing by usign a magnet (and that's a well known old, very old, alternative medicine procedure)
Have you tested what happens with those magnets in your feet? do you get tired easier or not at all? don't you get a disfunction of something in your body by having such big magnets on your feet?
well magnets lose there power but it takes like 400 years so you rly wouldnt have to worry about it. but if you heat the magnet it will lose power so dont torch it or anything.
the guy in the video has got to be the WORST drummer i have ever seen or heard

the magnet at the bottom of the foot plate reacts with the magnet on the base of the pedal.
drumlord420 1 year ago
@drumlord420 wouldn't that just repel each other then?

exactly. the magnets provide the same mechanics as a spring system. the foot forces the petal down and the magnets repel, bringing the petal back up

seems like a great idea. reminds me of the BOA concept. That guy needs to prepare for questions or at least make himself more eloquent

Hey man, that's a very nice mechanical solution, but as many of us know, blood is moslty iron (that's why it is red), that's why when you got harm with a hit, you can accelerate the healing by usign a magnet (and that's a well known old, very old, alternative medicine procedure)
Have you tested what happens with those magnets in your feet? do you get tired easier or not at all? don't you get a disfunction of something in your body by having such big magnets on your feet?

but you cant adjust the tension :( itd have to be perfect or youd have to get used to it
thorvald22 3 years ago
you can adjust the tension, based on how you align the magnets

Question: How would they make double pedals?
TomMSTie 3 years ago
There is a double. Its on the website. And theres zero lag in the linkage.
FiveIronFrenzyFK 3 years ago 3
Hmm, interesting. Thank you.

prolly a shitload of money:[[[

Yeah, they're more expensive than an Axis pedal.
For no apparent reason, I might add.

is there any way the magnets can become de-magnetised at all. If they did you'd be pretty screwed.
freebirdgdw 3 years ago
well magnets lose there power but it takes like 400 years so you rly wouldnt have to worry about it. but if you heat the magnet it will lose power so dont torch it or anything.
the guy in the video has got to be the WORST drummer i have ever seen or heard
chasingaugust 3 years ago 8
Really?
italiarovinata 3 years ago
ya he was a bad drummer, and btw its 600 years! lol :)
mrclean905 3 years ago
He's not trying to show off, he's trying to do things that demonstrate the pedal
FiveIronFrenzyFK 3 years ago
True, a magnet can retain its field for that long, sometimes longer, unless it's in constant interaction with another, equally strong magnetic field.
Acosmicist 2 years ago
you should make double pedals with your idea?!
Lilfiggs 3 years ago
