  • the girl in the back practicing unsu looks pretty sharp too.

  • She seems to be performing mostly shito ryu Katas in competitions

  • This is the Shito Ryu Version of Seienchin. Perhaps this is a shitei round. Great Performance.

  • Hi! I don't know anything about Vietnam karate. Sorry,

I only know that she sometimes gives open kata seminars in Japan, for the JKF.

  • As I know, Shitoryu is located at Ho Chi Minh city, Phan Dinh Phung Stadium, they are called VSKA (VietNam Shitoryu Karatedo Association). But VietNam has developed much rapidly in shotokan and suzucho. Hoping it helps.

  • @MrMikeod

She trains in VietNam National team, her teacher is Quoc Trong Pham a member of JKA.

  • @MrMikeod Nguyen is currently training and instructing at the National Team's dojo. she is my sempai.

  • @MrMikeod : Ngan started trained in the Junior Hanoi Karate team at High-level Athletes Training Center (12 Trinh Hoai Duc street, Hanoi) with Sensei Pham Quoc Trong. Now she's training in the National Karate team at National sport Center with Sensei Le Cong.

  • where is the japan team? did they joined the competition?

  • No, they did not.

    They were probably at home.

  • Hello, I notice that this is essentially the same as the Goju-ryu Seiunchin. Would it be the same kata with a different spelling?

  • Hi!

Yes, it's essentially the same. There are some other spellings too :)

  • Seyunchin is the popular spelling from Okinawa. Don't forget the English spelling is a phonetic pronunciation of a foreign word. So no exact spelling in English would be "right"!

  • This is the shitei version of the Shito-ryu style.
