  • long live trapeze...every time i play black cloud for my supposedly know it all friends they are silent and humble..the voice, the bass playing , the material...there is a very good reason why real musicians like the moody blues had this much more than a hard rock band on their label.

  • Six Justin Bieber fans dislike this video...

  • Has anybody got any idea if there is any original footage of trapeze live from early seventies? That would be so amazing to see! my dad must have seen them 20+ times in and around Birmingham U.K. back then and took me as a young boy to see them live in very early nineties, but can't find much footage from before that.

  • Dirty dirty Blues. }:-)

  • Intresting to see this appear on the Black Country Communion album

  • Nice, right up to the shitty improvised guitar solos.....WTF. The original solo wasn't good enough for these guys? Pinched harmonics and high trills have no place in a Trapeze song. Glenn is still in top form, though.

  • Hey folks, you can this to the Bank that this is about as good as it gets in a line up!!Otherwise Prove it to me IF you can??Great band!!

  • Not only am i pissed that i couldnt appreciate this man earlier in life. He is the most talented vocalist ive ever heard! goosebumps all over glen you are truly the best brother thankyou for being around all these years my friend.

  • if anyone wishes to see glenn live - he will be in st louis at the pagent theatre with black country communion in june and other cities i`m sure (2011)

  • @Shroomlid @ratbatblu Wake up!!!! Chad Smith and Will Ferrell are the same person!!!!!!!

  • @Lavizzle Wondwer why they just dont admit it. Why the conspiracy, I am so confused.

  • played the original vinyl album to death but stil have it , still rocks :)

  • i saw glenn do this with trapeze in 73-he`s only gotten better!!!!!! what a monster artist!!!!!!

  • @davelwelch Wow, you actually saw Trapeze... very cool, wish I could have said the same. Amazing band

  • Awesome soul Rock music!

  • And I have done, and I have done....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I love you so much, brother Glenn, what an inspiration.

  • hope you all get to hear this song on the recent supergroup, black country communion album.

  • excellent !!!

  • Mr. Hughes, we're waiting for your second visit to Rio - Brazil to play all Trapeze material for us. You promissed!!! God bless you.

  • Mr. Hughes, we're waiting for your second visit to Rio - Brazil to play all Trapeze material for us. You promissed!!! God bless you.

  • If he could have helped write something this heavy on the Stormbringer release, Blackmore might not have felt like leaving....

  • Glenn Hughes is the most talent singer, bassplayer and songwriter ever existed. Trapeze albums Medusa and You Are The Music... We're Just The Band are epic rock'n'roll history. So good!!!!

I thank the Higher Power that Glenn got his life changed back 1991 at hospital after his heart almost stopped due to cocain abuse.

Thank you for all the wonderful music you have made and still make. It has ment so much to me during the years.

God bless you Glenn and keep on moving! ;))

  • Glenn did what had to be done...

  • Ow my God I loved Glenn Hughes...

  • Trapeze was one of my favorites too !! Black Cloud drum sound was great...as well as everything else. I never did get to see them live but I sure wore out the vinyl :-)

  • This is so cool!! I grew up in Houston, and dug the hell out of Trapeze when I was a kid.

  • @benjoNA1987

I think you "must" hear Trapeze - Medusa (1970)...

  • Saw Trapeze live in 1981. It was such a great show. Great time.

  • Brilliant track .I have this album by Trapeze.Remains a favourite of mine.

  • what is the album name? I heard this song on the deep purple listen learn read on, and i loved it, so now i want to buy the album!

  • The album name is Medusa by Trapeze.

  • deep purple never played this song!!!

  • yeah mate, I know that, but it is on the Listen Learn Read discography because it also shows what the members did before purple ;)

  • In german we say: Oberaffengeil! Which means "more than awesome!" ;-)

  • Who is playing Drums in this Vid?

    Thanks

  • chad simth

  • yhea!!!ched the fuking great performance!!!THE GOOD!!!!!

  • you are so fuckin right. I am 50, and am surprised at the lack of ppl eho've heard them. Blouck cloud is the most underrated song of the 70's

  • Great group. You can't get tired of hearing Trapeze. Anyone I have ever let hear them for the first time are blown away

  • Absolutely a great soulful "live" version of Medusa. Indeed, a gem of a cd.

  • Yeah...Trapeze (Medusa album) is a hidden gem from the 70's, a must have for all classic rockers out there.

    5 STARS!

  • you are so fuckin right. I am 50, and am surprised at the lack of ppl eho've heard them. Blouck cloud is the most underrated song of the 70's

  • Im Hooked!!

  • for some reason this reminds me of King's X

  • you must be from houston

  • Northeast WV baby!

  • i'd love to see video of "womans role" live, any one got it?

  • Trapeze is still one of my all time favs

  • When was this filmed, its superb. U.K. and Europe rockers, does it remind you of Budgie. The quiet section of the song in perticular. Who is the blond guitarist ?

  • i saw this vinil MEdusa a lot of time in the shop, Very expensive for me , i always listen Huges in live in Europe or Stormbringer

  • chad smith: an almost solitary example for a true teamplayer. no matter what your instrument, if any - one can really from this attitude.

  • crikey what a blinda, shame they dont write music like this anymore, razor light kaisers ect take note . proppa rock music, gotta be 3o years old song

  • Chad is now one of my top 10 drummers! Wow!

  • now that's a tune....

  • p.s Chad is the Daddy!

  • Also, as a matter of fact, John Bonham's (drummer for Zeppelin) favorite rock group was this one, and attended their gigs when he could, and also steped into the drums on stage live to play a song or two of theirs.

  • One of the greatest under rated riffs of all time. These guys were great, and we considered them in the league of Montrose, and Zeppelin.

  • MAN I wish I had been at this concert! Saw Trapeze at least 3 times...I had no idea anyone else even remembered them!

  • superbe jai le vinyle importer par mon frere en 1975 il na pas pris une ride un des meilleurs de ma collection

  • GREAT song, Glen sounds as good as ever, was wondering what became of Mel Galley ? anyone know ? I got loadsa Trapeze LPs - MEDUSA (classic) YOU ARE THE MUSIC... (more soulfull and good)HOT WIRE (no Glen here but good still) HOLD ON (new singer and a very decent LP ) Always though Mel Galley was SOOO underrated as guitar and singer too. This stuff is timeless.

  • Mel Galley sadly passed away a couple of months back. Cancer got the best of him, I think.

  • Glenn is still young and good ! Better than Gillan or perhaps Coverdale.

  • This outfit was 'in the pocket' with HUGHES having an 'ON' night. Love that drummer! This version cries for 2 guitars and both guys performed with lots of spirit and clever proficiency. Those KB parts adding hints of fusion to spice up things completes the imagery. Just Super!!

  • there is no time to find the time....i;ve done what has to be done......great lyrics....i get chills down my spine when i hear this tune....best vocalist in the last 4 decades hands down...

  • I love his high notes and the low ones, he makes different tipes of voices, he remembers me at rachelle ferrell in the sense of the hight soulful voice and the rock hight notes, and then all the low ones, he makes also a show with the voice, love it

  • amazing fusion, at the beggining soulfully blues..then metal blues, then again a soul blues with a touch of rock and elegance, what a voice my god, what a way to say the words, amazing simply amazing, this soulfully live in city of angels are the best perfomances by glenn hughes ive never seen, love the smooth voice in the begining but with a touch of strengh and then the hevay metal voice , love that!!!!

  • love this perfomance, my god what a voice, what strengh and power, amazing

  • This song,Is so so Good!I can,t sa y,NO MORE!

  • GREAT song ¡¡

  • Uma voz como poucas muito cool, sou fa desse cara.

  • Trapeze was why I started to play guitar-badly but still I fear-Medusa rocks, Seaful kills.

(And Glenn-what can you say-Black Cloud-You're Love Is Alright-Trapeze rocked and still rocks

  • What can you say about, this song, So powerful,This song,Also Jump started, My Guitar Playing,Got to see,Them early on,I was so Luckey!Rock ON!

  • Texas just about adopted Trapeze. I wonder sometimes if that didn't help keep them from getting the notoriety they deserved since they always seemed to be playing somewhere in Texas. They should have toured the nation more.

  • All of their live CDs are from concerts in Texas

  • They recorded "You are the music we are the band" album in Memphis at the overton Park Shell in 1972 or 3. I was there.

  • Trapeze was awesome!!!

  • Yes, yes. The Trapeze sound was unique.

    Why didnt got Galley rich?

  • if mell galley was here glenn wouldn't fell the need to sing lead guitar parts. it would be played!!! it's the reason trapeze sounded like they did!!! i miss em

  • its cool how he can sound like a black person, which is cool in his perform.

  • Cool!

  • anders olinder was my dads best friend before he left sweden and moved to england. back when my dad whas 16 he was sending illegal radio.

  • Badass tune!

  • Saw thwm live at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago - took up bass right after that! Glen still kicks ass - what a great song live - LOUD, MAN!!!!

  • Glen, you still kick ass! Great choice in Chad Smith!

  • Glenn forever!!!!!!!!!!

    DREAMT ODDYSSEY from Hamburgo

  • omg, i totally agree that chad smith and will ferrel look alike! i've been trying to convince everybody! :)

  • lol the drummer seems like Will Ferrel huahuauhauha

  • Maybe this time other - Will Ferrel looks like a Chad Smith? :P

  • As burned out as I am on all the old rock of my youth, this is still great. Thanks for posting.

  • ainda bem que ele tá vindo! thanks god!

  • Man ...I wonder if the keyboard player is Edward Roth.We play together in LA in 99-2000. If anyone can tell me. post it I'll be glad to know...Thanks!

    Capitan

  • That is indeed Ed Roth..I was in the audience that night...a fabulous night!

  • What an awesome job!! Thanks for this treasure edomatik, I love Trapeze, especially Mr. Hughes and the great Dave Holland, who influenced my drumming greatly. But Chad Smith does an excellent job here, really making The Best Drums on Earth bring this rock classic back to life!! WOW!!!

  • how can he still be this good??

  • Classic, timeless Trapeze...

  • Magique...

  • WOW what a voice! Thanks for sharing this great vid!

  • good,awsome,true rock music.

  • is there a video of "Black Cloud" ?

  • Yeah Glenn!! Great Performance!! Glenn has always been one of my favorite singers of all time. I used to love to listen to him kick David Coverdale's butt on those old purple records - No offense to Coverdale (who's no slouch himself). It's just that Glenn was so exceptional. Burning Band also!!

  • Tough shit for the second guitarist to respond to JJ's solo...

  • It was stupid of Glenn to get Nastos for this when he could've had Kollman who is a) eons better, and b) actually played with JJ on the preceding 'Songs In the Key of Rock' album.

  • It was evil of Glenn to let anyone "battle" with JJ... =)

  • Saw Trapeze back in '72 in N.O. with Lee Micheals, great band!!! have all their old LP's.

  • i saw trapeze in a little pub in basildon essex uk, it was called the double six !!, but glenn hughes had just joined perple then i think, but mel galley was on guitar. i remember he had a marshall stack, with the top cab turned to face the wall !!

  • This is a fucking fantastic rendition of a classic tune from back in the day!

  • I saw Trapeze in Denver '72 when they opened for the Moody Blues. Saw them again at London's Marquee Club in 1975. No Glenn that time...Galley, Holland, Pete Wright, and Rob Kendrick. Terry Rowley was back at the sound board playing an Arp Odyssey synth thru the main PA. You should have heard the low end it supplied on Medusa, Jury and Black Cloud! In this video it looks like Chad Smith on drums?

  • This is a great track. I have the entire concert and it SMOKES! Glenn obviously has a soft spot in his heart for old Trapeze material. Listening to this reminds me of the old tours of 1971-72-73

  • Amazing

Trapeze rules, and this is awesome

  • this is really excellent shit! 70's stuff would be the best.. you know, hear them at their peak..

  • Trapeze, orig line-up, reunited in the 90s and played some gigs in Texas. There is a full gig vid out there that is GREAT! Someone please put it up!

  • I saw them at the Back Room in Austin at the SXSW music conference in the late 90's. I would also like to see some of that on vid. I saw the 3 piece version with Holland and Galley in San Angelo in the early 70's.

  • thanks for posting this video. I would love to see

Mel Galley some older footage. Love it, Glenn's the best
