  • i love shooting blanks thing is though our school field is even less public but because a generation of cadets left empty cases on the field we almost got shut down haha now we have to go through shit loads of paper work before we can do it anywhere and i dont mean the normal ammount of paper work.

  • ive done it b4 mate its orgasmic...

    lcpl shearman

    2 mercian

    notts acf

  • Not a bad video, Should have had your magazines in your ammo pouches though ;) Why else do you have ammo pouches on your webbing? :P

  • Them mags are a bitch to get in :L

  • You guys r lucky. My company have to wait till July-august till we get the a2 :(

  • have you ever fired the cadet target rifle ?

  • @sader A1 = target rifle - adjustable target sights, single-shot to minimise recoil. A2 = assault rifle - direct deriviative of the L85A2, semi-automatic to maximise RoF and combat effectiveness.

I see your point...to the average shooter...the A1 was a waste of space...but that was the beauty of it - it's a marksman's weapon to test marksmanship principles...what will people want next...local semi-auto No.8's in school ranges because they can't shoot for shit..?

  • I was watching, then I realized you in a public place.. HOW THE FUCK WERE YOU ALLOWED TO DO THAT???? :D :D :D :D

  • @AirSquirrel1 Oh it's not THAT public - it's our school playing field...just a quick 'Oh and BTW...FYI we're gonna shoot stuff so if anyone calls...you know it's us...' to the local Rozzers and a few letter through locals' doors and we were set :-P.

    I liked being a terrorist...great fun :-P

  • yeah, my BFE was really fun. sorry it took so long to reply, i lost the video. i also shot this weapon with lives at warcop, on my feb camp '10. its a really fun rifle to use, and much better than the number 8. recoil is pretty big though

  • SWEEEET rifle. Tried out the l85a2 at the local TA base.

  • I fired this for the first time on wednesday and it is sooo nice cocking handle is a bit trickey to master in prone though :(

  • :-D Awesome! Yeah I know what you mean there - I've been using this weapon family for many years now and letting off multiple magazines in the prone can become sore on one's back :-/. That was one thing I could give to the L98A1...being a target rifle and all, not an assault rifle, comfy to use in the prone...but a bugger in any other position, unlike the L98A2 which is the opposite :-P

  • @05hunterd i agree back pains are a bastard

  • Is that the a2? Can't wait...

  • @JTGaming yhh

  • L98A2 love it :D we were the first to get them up here in scotland, its a brilliant rifle ,just unlike the old A1 , you have to drench it in oil every 2 seconds or if a drop of rain lands within a mile of it then it starts to stick , but nice exercise :D

  • we just got the new a2s at my detachmemt coz im in acf onlyused dp so far

  • Ur lucky... Im in Halesowen acf probs wont get A2 till later this year. They won't even let us do skill at arms, on camp everyone else gets to fire and we do map n compass :-(

  • FUCKIN HELL I bet those civvies were shit scared

  • yeah i could pick out mistakes if i wanted to, im a S.A.A freak, too good e.g forward assist, going to cock the weapon when parts where at rear...but generally was good drills :)

  • Forgot to forward assist, lol I failed my LSW test first time cos of that, at my school we've got 11 lsw's but still the old l98!!! Can't wait till it comes!

  • shit your school has LSW's? !!!!!

  • shooting in a town?:O good attack tbf, nice rate of fire on a section considering u got one weapon ;)

  • :-D Cheers! Yeah...there was myself and two others...we were supposed to have a rifle each...but there weren't enough BFA's...so I had the rifle whilst the two other less-experienced guys fed me ammo...all 8 mags worth XD. I didn't bother to check them though...which was a mistake as they were all over-filled by one round :-/.

  • You can load them with 30rounds... They are a 30 round magazine. you just need to give it a little umph! lol

  • ...last rounds were on the left according to the WO...

  • how come you guys get to fire blanks, we can only even fire the A2 by traveling the an RAF base and shooting there with the wing

  • 'Cause we is, like, awesome innit :-P

Nah...we're the first ever to do it...so it was a bit of a proving session too...

  • And was good fun :P

  • are u firing the l85-a2 or the l98? it sounds fully automatic

so im guessing its the l85, please reply. im going to driffield this december and im gonna do a blank firing exercise i cant wait!!

  • 'Twas the L98A2 :-).

It's just I can get an awesome rate of fire from my highly-developed trigger finger :-P.

BFE sounds fun! Hope it goes well for ya! :-)

  • yeah it was really fun! i did it last weekend. i only used a few of my rounds, so i got to fire the rest of mine off while everyone else just lay there

  • also, dont you think blank mags are really awkward to load and eject? i spent ages trying to get mine in, eventually the tutor just put the mag in the housing and banged the rifle on it! that got it in

  • looks like an odd place to do that. on a sports field lol

  • I know not too good for cam and concealment, hahah! This was more of a demonstration to pretty much the whole school and sixth form. Plus the smoke into the road and the rate of fire that was but down for one enemy!!!

  • Strood detachment doesnt have these yet :( very soon i hope

  • :-) They're working North-South with them...apparently they should have completed the whole country in just over a year...in MoD time though...that's 3 :-P

  • Hmm hopefully :)

  • Where is the Forward Assist!!!!! Still a good video anyway.

  • Forward Assist was left behind at the first firing point :-P. I kinda thought 'sod it' after that and just loosed rounds...I had 8 mags to use :-D.

It didn't jam...it's an A2! No real need for FA since the L85A1 went...but I knew that if it failed to fire then I just had to FA ;-D

    Thanks for the appreciation though!

  • Nooooo it's the safety issue Dave.. you should know this.. If the working parts aren't fully forward then gas and junk will escape out the back of the weapon seriously injuring the guy next to ya, but it would still fire cos theres a round int he chamber.... tut tut Dave

  • ohh nice i want a copy :)

  • I'll get the vid to ya...I'll bring it on a USB flash drive to school on Wed :-)
