All three of my cats I have were adopted from my local animal shelter! If you already have enough pets in your household, you can also volunteer at you local shelter by fostering kittens n' such!

Also, most Humane Society shelters are No Kill, and are not miserable places like some people think they are.

I help animals every time I go to Pick N Save because we got a form from the mall and it was so every time my mom uses her value card at Pick N Save we donate to help animals, I also sometimes in the winter throw food outside so the animals can eat. All of my pets are rescued, we rescued them from the wild and cared for them, I pan on building a huge animal rescue center and vet with a forest behind it. I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN! To anybody who wants to donate to a local animal shelter, I would recommend NOT donation to the Human Society of the United States (HSUS). Most of the donated money is put into advertisements for, guess what, more donations. Donating to them does not send your money to a local shelter. If anything, go to the local shelter yourself and donate personally. They will most likely accept more than money, they may also accept, toys, food, and litter.
