  • I think having a shorter period would decrease anemia in women that have it or decrease their chances of having it. It seems that from what I gather through the comments that women who went from a polluted diet menstruated longer than when they went to the healther diet which shorted or deleted the menstrual (bleeding). (^_ ^) Very interesting topic.

  • When I was at my sickest around 14 - 16, I was having regular periods. During that time I was majorly depressed and often attempted suicide by consuming toxic things like anti-freeze, bleach, & overdosing on whatever I could get my hands on, etc. and each time I did something like this my periods went from normal to EXTREMELY heavy. I had excessive bleeding, and I believe that my body detoxed itself through the heavy menstruation because...

  • each time my body would bounce back to normal after these attempts. I'm 18 now, I stay away from ALL products, juice often, eat a raw organic clean diet, and fast on and off. I never get periods anymore and I'm happy and healthy. That's just my experience.

  • @imperfectionKillz "I believe that my body detoxed"

Thanks for posting your experience. I also believe menstruation symptoms are detox symptoms. I feel less anxious with a raw/low fat diet. I don't believe human women are cursed among all mammals to have such strong menstruation symptoms if eating biochemically compatible diets. In fact I believe women are fortunate to be able to identify menstruation symptoms as the body doesn't lie and they have the opportunity to correct diets accordingly.

  • I completed my 21 day water fast on Jan 9th 2011 and today is Feb 9th 2011. I got my period a week early during my water fst the 3rd lasted on and off for 5 days, weird spotting after I thought it was done & now I was wondering why it is still not here. NOt sure what to make of it. Very bloated and extreme feelings of pms like the symptoms I got during the fast. I am confused as to when I will recieve it. I am now 90% raw low fat vegan and eat some carbs and cooked veggies with some fat at night

  • I started water fasting yesterday and I have started my menstural cycle. I don't feel and pain ( which is great but unusual).

  • lol im so immature

i cant watch this video with a straight face

  • Interesting! Here's how it happened for me:

With my old (disgusting) diet I had my period as as usual, then started my fast two days after the END of it. I water fasted for 21 days, followed by 10 days of juicing - then stayed vegan. It ended up being a little over 2.5 months between cycles. It's certainly quite a change for the body!

  • well I hope u get better, ur face does look like ur nervous. : ) hey check out my new videos, I am starting my juice fast. i tried the water fasting and I just couldnt do more than 3 days, but I did lose 5 pounds. well talk to u later, bye

  • I'm male but i know fasting causes low libido. I have heard of irregular periods of women fasting. Should correct itself after a couple weeks of normal eating.

  • @wackpdot1 There is research that states women don't need to menstruate to ovulate. There are plenty of women in the raw food world that have little to no menstruation. I'm tracking my experiences. The period doesn't become irregular-it corrects itself-the whole body does during fasting. Going back to "normal" eating we undo that, which is why I'm staying w/ the diet intended for humans. I don't think my libido is low nor do I want to have my period because the world thinks this is "normal".

  • @sweetp888t well i enjoy having "low libido" as male, gives me more control, but

that's me. I don't know how female menstruation works, so I'm sure your probably right.

  • @sweetp888t "nor do I want to have my period because the world thinks this is "normal".

sweetp, thanks for documenting and posting your experiences. The fact that so many women (and men) continue to eat cooked, high fat food, in spite of such self-reports, without at least trying to learn through their own diet experimentation goes to show the lack of real interest in naturalistic living and the cultural conditioning among techno-humans. Thumbs up to you!
