Genres shouldn't be segregated because of what you think is "right" or "wrong". The fact of the matter is that the digeridoo has an amazing vibrant texture to it and that's why people use it in other forms of music.

@mentholman702 What you don't understand mentholman is this right here is extremely HARD to play!! This man right here is nothing shorter than a MASTER, that's a bit of an understatement too! This sort of thing takes years of practice, commitment and dedication to master, I have been practicing (with circular breathing down) for about a year now and am nowhere near this level! This instrument is if not the hardest then definitely one of the hardest instruments to master IN THE WORLD!

It's Called Circular Breathing. Basicaly, when you feel you running out of air, push the air you have in your cheeks out with the muscles of your cheeks, so not with your long. when doing so, teek a firm and quick stroke of fresh air and repeat the whole proces. A didgeridoo with a smaller opening for your mouth or a didgeridoo with more backpressure can usually help.

actually, the real story is that the dreaming law forbids women from playing a didj at ceremonies. Only men with permission and proper training can. Other than that, both girls and boys have fun with didjs since they are little children. However, because of culture, when the girls grow up they will stop playing in public, because the didj is a somewhat male pasttime, but still, it would be ok to do so. I have read this on the "Original Aborigenal" webzine.
