@Mintkarla I think you're cute, but that probably annoys you even more.... ah women.....
But I actually have a real question here. Does this interview with Seth Gordon really take 20 seconds or is this like a preview or something? If there is a longer version of this interview, than where is it?
@pr7820 man, not only that but the website for twin galaxies last time I tried to go through it was not set up very well. I found the design is pretty weak and not straight forward. I just dont know of any other lists of that nature.
@pr7820 well I dont know for sure, because I personally have not done research on the topic... but many people have said that michael did lie in Fahrenheit 911... in fact counter documentaries have been made specifically addressing the issue. I haven't seen it though so I cant say personally... but you get what I mean. By the way, do you have any accurate video game record holder websites you could recommend? I would like to check out a few games from a reliable source.
@pr7820 you missed the point, michael moore films are filmed to look like documentaries when they technically are not... that was my point. KOK is also filmed in that way and it also is not.
@MrDebauch seth gordon is a pile of crap- Billie Mitchell might not be awesome but he was definitely a victim here- he wasn't even told that the subject matter of the doc was donkey kong, he was told it was coin based gaming in general- no wonder he didn't really give a crap about steve wiebe- I totally agree with MrDebauch that this is a movie in the style of michael moore- gordon created characters in editing for entertainment purposes that did not resemble their true life counter part-
@pr7820 That is the movie industry summed up right there... not just this movie.
But yeah, they did call it a documentary but it is not. It fits in the same genre as those michael moore films... they aren't documentaries but they are filmed in a way to come off as a documentary.
@pr7820 well I dont know about steve, but billy actually did get world records in various games... he was barely in KOK, and even if he was who cares. It is a fact that he was a fantastic gamer and has set scores... so who else do you get in a movie like that? KOK is not a documentary, it is a written movie. The arcade where steve played during KOK is not even a real arcade, it was a movie set.
@pr7820 while I see your point and dont disagree.... billy was barely in the film and he barely even plays video games. Not everyone tries to ride the wave one one life accomplishment especially when they have other success in life that require attention. Another thing is, regardless of who got what movie deal and who got payed what... both are better at DK then all of us. I would never have heard of either of them had it not been for films like KOK.
@pr7820 You're a tool. Way to join the internet bandwagon. If you knew Billy and his reputation before the King of Kong, and didn't join this knee jerk reaction of a bunch of internet sheep, you would know he has always been a douche, and now matter how a documentary may try to portray him, everything that comes out of his mouth in his own words, represents his true douchery.
I would bet thousands of dollars that every single post under me is the same guy. Either that or some are Tim Sczerby and some are the other assholes from the film.
Its a shame so many people dont like Billy Mitchell because of the way this douche nozzle portrayed him in the film. another victim of this farce of a documentary was Tim Sczerby who Seth Gordon didn't even acknowledge.
I watched the documentary, The first time it was hilarious, brilliantly skewering a small fragment of american life, bursting a would-be heroes cosy self aggrandising bubble.
But it's much worse.
Isnt it....
With co-operation from ALL the protagnists this story will "BEGIN TO ARC BACK ON ITSELF", revealing more about its makers than Billy "BOO HISS" Mitchell who in aftermath interviews reveals himself to me as a genuine article. You guys just couldn'nt help yourself.
The real story was that Mr. Awesome has a beef with TwinGalaxies Steve Weibe was involved with him. Having Shildt as his supporter tainted Steve in the eyes of the governing body and the friends of Bill Mitchell. Here's a link to read about Shildt's controversy (his world record was set with early era settings and eyewitnesses claim anomalies, thus his score was erased by TG). Mr. Awesome is the entire story and Seth Gordon should be ashamed for missing that, and for discrediting the community.
I watched it again and I think Shildt was Mitchell's excuse to sit back and study Wiebe's technique. He couldn't make it to a million live until Wiebe, so he probably had to use Wiebe's tape.
I think a million points was the real source of conflict. Mitchell lost the title in 2001. He was probably planning the million point game as one of his "stunts". The facts are inaccurate and Gordon should still be ashamed for merely capturing a childish tantrum instead of searching deeper for reason.
hey its me from the future, those games blow dick
