I've seen 2 year olds with STD's!
I've seen women knifed and bashed.
I've witnessed public floggings and listened to the sounds of bones being broken.
I've seen kids as youg as 5 out of thier heads from petrol sniffing.
I've tried to help 10 year olds who can't speak any language at all.
I've seen as many as 13 kids living with thier grandmother becuase thier parents where always pissed.!

But we must remember who created this society and it's laws. I think and know it is horrible to not know who your ancestors are and where you come from. I think it's a bit arrogant that Aboriginal man at the beginning demands his people be recognized as the first people of Australia. Technically, they were not. Those people that had come from Europe and settled on the land mass that would become Australia, named by them, would and should be considered the first Australians, because they gave birth to the nation. The Aboriginals inhabited the continent that would become Australia before the Europeans, but the Brits were the first Australians.

I never stated why they had come, whether they had went there freely or had been forced from their homeland, the latter being true, because the continent was used as a penal colony by the Brits. @Escekar My own country? Well, for one, I'm not Australia, I'm American. Although, I think the same thing could still be said for my position, with my ancestors having taken the land from the American Indians being very similar to the loss of your people's land by the hands of the English.
Regardless, I've always held a personal belief that you can keep what you can defend and protect. You have no "right" to Australia. Your ancestors were weaker than the English, so they lost it. End of story.

I'm having a bit of trouble reading you. By the sound of things, you think the Australian government provides the Aboriginals, your people, with free medical care, shelter and food because they realize your supremacy as rulers of the continent, even though your people were almost eradicated and scattered, and were left no longer in charge. Australians feel an ancestral guilt for what their people did to yours, so to ease their guilt, they take care of you. It's mutually beneficial.

Unfortunately, and I'm sure many idealists, moralists and ethics people would argue this for eternity, power through physical force is the only thing that truly matters in this universe, a physical realm. Small bodies are overtaken by larger bodies, or destroyed utterly; the weak are dominated by the strong. Those with weaker technologies, such as the Aboriginals, lost to superior forces with superior technologies.

One big reason why America, NZ and Australia were invaded and taken over by Europeans so effectively was because of the small populations of indigenous peoples in these lands. What happened in America, NZ and Australia makes a pretty good case for abandoning contraception! Look for instance at India, Africa and China. Europeans attempted to colonize these countries, but the huge and overwhelming native populations meant they couldn't. A strong case for having as many children a possible eh?

Maori are a minority in mainstream government, but they remain effective both politically and throughout the media. Maori also have their own government and King. Maybe Aboriginal people should do likewise because its working...NZ and AUS governments are under the same umbrella, England.
