The only way you cannot be defeated if you block the enemies' slash and follow up with blade waves all the time. When the enemies are using long charging HP attacks. Use Hell gate or try to get a HP attack in.

i took firion(me) against sephiroth lvl 120 max setting and still won. my firion was lvl 68 when i fought sephiroth.

Let's break down Sephiroth's Octaslash, cause I feel like it.

The first 3 swings; each swing is 2 hits, and that makes 6 hits. Add the last 2 hits and there you go, the Octaslash.

You forgot to put Heartless Angel in your list of attacks. The one where he glows and brings the opponent's Brave points down to one while in EX Mode.

Also forgot to mention before, the metero summoning HP attack is very useful too. It has 3 stage of summoning the 2nd stage casts the fasteset meteor and the 3rd stage casts the biggest. Its good in a map with lots of obstacle. also when ur meteor traps ur enemy, u can do an octaslah if ur close. I've stacked meteor+octaslash+limit break on 1 person once. Altho octaslash would do no damage since all ur brave point would've been used on meteor -.- but yer.. it looks good. did like 6000+5000 damag

one thing, u realize that u can transform to ex mode while ur performing an attack, eg octaslash. so u dun have to transform before u attack. Cos if the enemy is half smart they will just stay away from u while ur in ex mode and let ur ex bar run out. If u transform in the middle of attacking them with say octaslash, then there is no evading ur limit break. Or u can block with ex mode transformation, then octaslash.

or if you REALLY wanna fuck someone over, you can use the Ex-cancel with Hell's gate. If you start a Hell's gate at the end of a dash, near the ground, and enter EX almost immediately after you start the attack, the impact is isntant. Looking at it as the opponent, you just see Sephiroth flying toward syou, then suddenly random rock explosion thing on the ground, and you half dead. Probably hte best cheap trick in the game lol.

First, you're required to be in EX Mode (think of it as the 'super mode' for all characters). Then you have to land an HP attack while in said mode (HP Attacks are performed with the Square button). When the Square button prompt appears on the screen, press the button again to execute the EX Burst/Limit Break. Most EX Bursts have different mechanisms on how they can be powered up. For both Sephiroth and Cloud, you have to tap the O button until the gauge is maxed out for the full effect.

As mentioned before, most characters have different mechanisms on how they're powered up. Most heroes and villains of the same game will share the same mechanism. As mentioned before once again, Cloud and Sephiroth's EX Bursts require tappin' the O button. Another example is Squall and Ultimecia, whom both have to tap the X Button at the right moment. It's pretty much the exact same thing as performin' an actual Renzokuken.

those show how many Hp bars you have left, just like in kingdome hearts 2, Sephiroth had 15 life bars and in this game he has 9, equal to 9000 hp. 1 life bar to the max is 1000 hp. As sephiroth he was hiting in the 1000s thus quickly disposing Zidane's life bars, hope that helped :)

and he was never in danger of losing, he just used EX mode to get away from otherwise impossibly dodgable moves like Brave>HP chain moves

Indeed so, I Main Sephiroth, note in this Video that Sephiroth does low damage. With Nice Rings and Ring X items, He can do about 80-100 damage a hit to lvl 105s. He is very deadly if you know his weaknessess and fix them when faced with humans.

actually there were several times when zidane got ahold of him but he got out of it w/ EX mode.

generally this wouldnt be too impressive but going offensive against the higher difficulty computer gives some credit.

would be interesting to see how it fairs against someone with longer range like kuja
