I would have to disagree in that Lydia Lunch was part of the "No Wave" movement which was trying to destroy metal where as the YYYs are more like siouxsie and the Banshees with more punk in it. I feel that Lydia Lunch had a minimal effect on music in general and is often over rated.

sorry to get music dork on you, but no wave had nothing to do with a metal rivalry. no wave started in the mid-70s, part of the experimental downtown nyc art/music scene. you're confusing no wave with the umbrella term New Wave, which gained ground when mainstream pop critics used it in the early 80s. the only tie between no wave and metal came in late 90s with Weasel Walter, who wrote about & revived interest in no wave but also drummed in the free jazz/metal band flying luttenbachers.
