judging by the way of how myst 4 was the most realistic game that i have ever played, so i expected myst 5 to be the best and that cyan went all out on it. i was disappointed when i saw how this was yet another one of those 3D games T_T. the good part is the ability to control bahro
I have a question regarding.. well.. all the Myst games. You're confronted with alot of puzzles along the way.. but are there actually clues, hints and certain logic to them so that they can be solved by thinking about it? Or is it just mindless experimentation untill you get it right?
guys, i have never played any Myst game and i want to start... my question is, i must start with Myst 1 or each game has a different storyline? thanks in advance
@PsyMike3d more specifically, start with "Real Myst", it's a realtime 3D version of the first game with overall better graphics, in my opinion. There's not reaaally a story line to follow, but there's alot of information about past events and characters that will make the games after much more enjoyable.
Don't know if anybody has answered your question, but I would highly recommend playing the first game. Now, theoretically, you can pick up any game in the series and start there; the story, while well developed and well told, doesn't dominate the game so much so that a newbie wouldn't like it (a certain puzzle in Riven did carry over, though) Tracking down a copy of Myst or Myst Masterpiece/RealMyst is something I recommend, though, because it's an excelent puzzle game that holds up today
@Echosofthemind no, you aren't playing the stranger in this one. you play a docter from uru. he is part of the exploration project that was going on in uru.
@greatpapercraft2008 I'm not sure what your response was supposed to mean but in Uru and five you aren't playing YOU anymore. That was my issie with those two games, aside from the straying from the original storyline, poor voice acting, and terrible graphics. The version of you put into the MYST worlds is supposed to be a very good friend of Atrus and family. Changing the character to an already invented person that ISN'T you is...disgusting to me. I couldn't play those last 2 out of the series
ha my dad bought me this game ages ago! and we couldnt play it coz i wast administrator so didnt work for some reason. then i became admin a few month later and forgot about the game then i installed it and it was shit graphics!...well i thought 3years later on ive grown up and learnt a shit load on comps i can build one now! and my video card was horrible and this year we are getting a new one so im getting a good gaming comp and ill probably play myst. for now ill stick with worms 2 wooooooooo
Even if it was, it would be impossible for children of that age. I have Uru and it says in the cover "3+". Does that mean children over three can play it?
@stawa95 Well, they might not get very far, but they can play it. I suppose it sort of also depends on definition of "play" I mean, they might have a fun time looking at the pretty things and walking and pushing objects around
with rollercoaster he means the concluding scenes of the ages in myst 3, in myst 4 there is a similar scene in the beginning where yeesha takes you to tomahna. nothing like this is included in myst 5 though.
"Along the way Esher often pops up to give you cryptic clues and otherwise to kind of bemoan his predicament." XD so true. Esher is the ultimate tour guide.
Me either, the film will be AWESOME. I just hope it doesn't give away everything you have to do in the games, because that would spoil it for some people. True, every Myst game deserves a 10 except Uru. I don't like Uru that much (Yes I have played it, and beat it), idk why, just like the point-n-click Myst's better.
No Atrus? Computer generated characters? WALKING??
This ain't no Myst game.

Goddamn you're stupid!
You know what URU means? U R U = You Are You!
But the trailer of Myst 5 shows a random bearded guy, so that's kinda stupid.

I have heard you can make roller coasters in Myst 3 Exile, can u do that in Myst 4 or Myst 5?

you can't even do it in Exile, nor Revelation (4). Not sure about 5 cuz I haven't played it yet, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't let you.

i personaly think every myst deserves a 10 (except uru).
i hate that they put an end to the franchise, but then again if they didn't they would ruin everything that's good about it.
can't wait for the film btw n.n

the film is based opun the books (which are awesome as well ^^)

Uru isn't bad, but the other Myst games are better. Simple. They deserve a 10, each of them, but maybe a 9 for Uru...
